Having never played I love Bees I wouldn't know but I think this would be better off in Meta.

Hmm, a tricky one to answer succinctly but I'll try - also, I'm sure there are better qualified people to answer this (DM, rose, MaC) but I have followed both so...
ILB required much more of a community effort by its very nature, and therefore felt quite a bit different to how PPC feels now. The storyline of ILB was very absorbing, and due to its shortness compared to PPC much I think more focused. However, PPC has many more diverse elements, and has pushed the boundaries in so many different ways that I have got to say PPC is my favourite overall so far.

Sorry Duckiemonster, I meant Dorkmaster - it slipped my mind that you could be abbreviated to DM too as this would be far too disrespectful
Oh, and MaC is PFCMacavity if thats unclear.
Also, note I put so far - I haven't compared endgames so PPC has quite a bit to live up to as ILB was pretty intense at the end! I would recommend any ARG newbies to listen to the whole shebang here.
And then imagine piecing each one together from small clips over a couple of months, with access granted to each snippet only after receiving multiple calls from multiple specific phoneboxs scattered about the USA.
Oh, and one in London that no-one could find!

The community aspect in Bees was certainly more intense, as we were all scrambling over ourselves to answer those phones.
This is also related to the longer time-span of Perplex City -- people can't quite keep up that high an intensity for over a year. I can say with the Bees crowd, by now the Backdoor would likely be sliced, diced, dissected, and honored with fan fiction.
On the other hands, Bees didn't have any puzzles as good as the aforementioned Backdoor. They were going to more or less avoid puzzles altogether except after enough community rumbling they did acquiesce with some later.
The plot of Bees was tighter, but I find the characters in Perplex City more engaging. (There's only so much one can relate to an AI construct.)
So, um, I have no conclusion from that whatsoever. They're both good.
My personal favorite of ARGs is still Art of the Heist though. There was nothing quite like communicating with a character and getting responses back and forth in real time while they were about to start a daring plan -- and having the emails show up on the public site! The live events were simply astonishing -- I have fingers crossed Perplex may reach the same lofty heights. (Break-in on a 3P facility, anyone?)

[OT]Nothing like a proper public site but what about Silburn-Griggs mine? We were talking to Kurt as he was running around a mine, completely live.[/OT]

Well, they did "kill" a player in Heist. Maybe if MC ever does the live equivalent of the Silburn-Griggs mine that can be arranged?
