LOL, omg, who sent in the crappy combine picture i did??? lol... i would have cleaned it up more if i knew it was going to be posted on dales site! Laughing

Can't say I am exactly pleased though about dale knowing this stuff - keith's trust is important {I THINK} right now, and he is paranoid enough. Now that the image and whatnot is out, who is to say he will ever trust me again, or any of his other web contacts. And let us hope dale doesn't get killed like brad did. let us also hope dale & sarah don't find out keith {and me} have the masks!!!! PLEASE?

[edit]about the masks - for our protection is all[/edit]

So, how many Incunabula CD's are we dealing with?
There's one Iris gave Dale that Wes owned.
There's the one Keith gave to Pixie
And the one in the video
Is the one in the video the same one Keith gave Pixie, more or less making him "Mr. Leeds"? Or is it another one?
I guess it could be the one Dale now has, but that'd be pretty creepy, as it would mean that the ghost of Wes is Mr. Leeds. (Or, I guess it could be Wes' son).

I lean toward Keith being Mr. Leeds as he mentioned the shack, and all.

rogi: the cd i got was wrapped in plastic {not shrink wrapped or plastic wrap but sealed like a new cd} - so i think it is a new one that he found with the comic and the mask.

I emailed keith about this, cross post email here so with any luck he can tell us if dale is in danger - maybe he can help Dale.

Not to put ya down or anything, Rogi, but there IS the possibility that there are more than 3 copies of the CD in existance. I'm thinking that they're all different copies and Keith isn't mrleeds, if nothing more than the fact that if Keith is mrleeds then he lied about not having footage in the woods and he won't be able to add any more videos to youtube, now that he's on the run.

Yes. There may be many copies floating about.
I just thought Keith's mention of the shack and the video had a lot of similarity. If the video depicts grabbing the disk at the "shack", there must be a sign that says, "One to a customer".

I thought Keith got the CD in the hole with the masks, instead of a shack?

They way it sounded to me, when he found that hole, there was a box in it with all the masks and various other stuff, like what he sent out to people (and haven't arrived yet unless no-one's saying anything)

Sorry. I guess I got the shack thing from a post by drizjr. I was out for a while and probably did a little too much skimming trying to catch up.
As for the masks and holes: the email I got had this comment:
"I put a couple other things in the packages I handed over yesterday, parts of what I still have to tell. The paper things I made; the other two things were in the hole when I found it. The first hole."
I think Brad dug them up from six different holes, put them in the box and was going to hand them over to the bad guys, but Keith intervened, resulting in Brad's "death by Guido".

I also think Brad may very well have buried them in the first place.

Wait, is that an actual quote from Keith? Because it makes me instantly think of the lunkhead Marzent boys.

No. It wasn't Keith's wording.
"Guido" is just my term for the heavy who breaks legs or rubs people out.
When there's more than one heavy, they're "Guido and da boys".

EDIT: As to how many copies of the Incunabula CD might be floating about...

Amazon has some more info on that.

[UPDATE] July 16 Dale in Library basement

A "hidden" entry...

Quote:
July 16, 2006: Listen, I know how this is going to sound, and I know the things people have been thinking and whispering about me for days now, ever since the fires, and my absence immediately following them. I wish I had a more complete and more convincing explanation, but the truth is the truth or, perhaps more realistically, the facts are the facts. I don't know what the Truth is anymore, what is real, and what is only part of some dream that has found its way into my waking life. Maybe they are one and the same. If that's so, maybe there is no Truth, no Reality, nothing hard and defined to hold onto, only the things that happen to us, as we perceive them, and what we do with them, maybe that's all that matters.

I know I'm not making much sense. My world doesn't make much sense right now.

I went to the Library, Tuesday night I think it was, yes Tuesday, and it was just before midnight I believe. In any case, it was empty, and dark, and most importantly, the keys I had still worked. I half expected to find Sarah there, filing away books or tidying up the place, although that's the last thing I wanted. I don't want to involve Sam and Sarah in all this, if I can help it.

Down in the basement, I stood before the wall I had dreamt of several times, which according to the old records I had looked at, were part of an external wall of the old library building. The building had been expanded and restored several times now, but as far as I could tell, that old underground area had been sealed off years ago. And more importantly, one of the drawings I had seen showed a door into that area right where I stood.

The wall was in a storage area of the library, and looked to be made of the original old fieldstones that probably comprised the main walls of the original structure. I searched the wall for probably an hour, looking for any signs of the old doorway, or any means of gaining access to what I knew must be beyond. But I failed. There was simply no way in through the wall, and it withstood a few minutes of my fiercest pounding with the small sledgehammer I had brought with me without showing the slightest crack. It wasn't until I dropped the hammer to the ground in frustration that I heard the hollow sound below my feet.

A few minutes of working on the floor cracked it open to reveal a wooden crawlspace, or chute of sorts, going at an angle back into the old area behind the wall. It must have been an old coal chute, perhaps, since most of the old buildings in the area relied on the coal that had been a mainstay of Pine Barrens commerce back then. Whatever it was, it was empty, except for the layers of spider webs that spanned the approximate two foot gap of the chute. Afraid of what might be below, I went down feet first, blindly, into the dark.

It really wasn't much of a drop though, as the chute was only four or five feet long and dropped into an empty area that must have been just inside and below the old stone wall. The flashlight I was carrying dimly showed an old cellar of sorts, with dusty and decayed shelves and racks, filling the small space. I was excited at my find but hope quickly turned to despair when I realized there was absolutely nothing there. Besides the shelves themselves and some scattered remnants of broken bottles, the room was completely empty. There were no other exits to be found, and I was forced to crawl my way back up the coal chute tube, scraping myself up quite a bit while I did. It was now almost one thirty, I think, though the face of my watch had been badly scratched by either my fall or climb and was hard to make out in the dim light. I slid some boxes over the hole I had made in the floor and left, wondering how I was going to explain that to Sarah at some point.

It was raining outside when I left the Library, disappointed and already exhausted. But I was determined to find answers somewhere, and I headed out to Ash Grove Park.

Someone is at my door. I'll finish this soon.

So he found nothing, but was something released?
And, ut oh, someone's at the door...!

part 2: http://www.thewishcomic.com/journal/071606_part2.html

Quote:
July 16, 2006 Part 2: With everything that has happened over the last few days, I almost forgot that Meaghan was coming over for the afternoon and evening. That's who was at the door earlier. Her mood hasn't improved any, and she was still cold and distant with me. We talked briefly about the fires and she said she was worried about Sarah, but hadn't talked to her at all since then. I expected her to ask me why I hadn't called her in a few days, but she never brought it up. After that, she spent most of the time in her old room, despite all my efforts to get her to do something with me. She seemed anxious to leave when the time was up, although she wasn't at all friendly to Bruce either when he picked her up. I guess Diana has him well trained. Or maybe she just doesn't want to be seen anywhere near me, anymore.

The rain had stopped by the time I got out to Ash Grove Park. Even though it was the middle of the night, there were a few lights on this time, unlike my last couple late night trips there. I guess it reflected their new status of being open during the days. In any case, I was surprised to find the front gates open, with no one in sight. It seemed strange to me but I was fixated with finding Digitalis at that point and couldn't be distracted by how surreal it all felt.

Halfway between the gates and the midway where the tent of Digitalis was, the lights went out, leaving me in total darkness. It was then I began to hear shouts, from somewhere in the distance, and something flickering, like flashlights perhaps, on the other side of the park. I knew I didn't have much time so I ran the rest of the way to the tent, my eyes adjusting somewhat to the night as I ran. The flashlight banged against my leg in my pocket, but I didn't want to stop to pull it out.

I knew something was wrong before I even peered inside. The shouts were getting louder and closer and my flashlight was beginning to die almost as soon as I flicked it on, from the entrance to the tent. Everything inside was in a state of disarray, either overturned, damaged, or totally destroyed. I took one step inside a saw a dark form underneath an overturned bookcase; it was a body.

I backed up quickly out of the tent. What I thought were flickering flashlights before were now flames, in the process of engulfing the park. I still heard voices, but they were farther away now, and fading fast. Not knowing what to do I ran for my car. There didn't appear to be anyone around to warn, and I had no idea where to find a phone, so leaving seemed like the best decision I could make. Get away, get to someplace safe, and call someone, tell them what had happened. The body, the fire, this changed everything, and I knew I couldn't deal with this thing alone any longer.

The front gate was locked when I got there. I grabbed it to shake it, and it was already warm from the flames spreading all around. I could see my car, sitting at the far edge of the parking lot. And then something hit me from behind - a person, a falling piece of debris - I'm not sure. Whatever it was, it knocked me out, and I remember thinking just briefly that I was going to die before everything went black.

From the best I can figure out, that must have been around 3:00 or 4:00 in the morning on Wednesday. The next moment I can tell you that I clearly remember is sometime early Friday evening, when I woke up in my car, inside my garage here at home. I have no idea how long I was sitting there or how I even got there. But I do have these bits of memories, little more than glimpses really, of things that might have happened in that time. They seem almost more dreamlike than real though, so I honestly don't know what to believe. Is it possible for what I think may have happened to have actually occurred?

I remember hands on my body, and rain on my face as I was carried, although I could not open my eyes to see where or by whom. I remember being strapped to a table or gurney of some sort, a feeling much too similar to the one from my comic where they are wheeling me into Klepsydra. But there was nothing clinical or hospital-like about this place, and it felt much darker and more menacing than even the worst asylum could ever be. I remember pain, prolonged and torturous, as the darkness kept me from seeing who or what was causing the pain. I remember tasting my own blood as it ran down my face and pooled on my swollen lips.

I remember a voice, cold and dispassionate, but at the same time conveying a feeling of joy or victory at my pain. "You think you have won. You are all fools. The ashes of your victory reign down upon your world now. You are the liar, the betrayer, the creator of all that brings pain and false dreams. You, of all people, shall not stop what we have both begun."

And then I saw words, numbers, diagrams, flashing through my mind so quickly it hurt, each bit of accelerated data like a knife stab to my brain. I remember blackness bringing relief to the pain, only to be awakened by pain even more intense. Throughout it all I saw a pair of eyes staring at me, emotionless, unwavering, unsympathetic to my pain.

I remember the voice, speaking one more time. "Useless, to me, to them, to yourself. I have nothing to fear from you anymore." I remember hands, as the voice spoke, pulling loose my bonds and dragging me somewhere roughly in the darkness.

And then I was home, in my car. I could still feel the pain, as the echoes of it still resonated deep within me. But there were no signs, no marks, no bruises anywhere to confirm what I felt. To provide me an answer to what had really happened to me.

I know, I knew this was going to sound crazy, perhaps crazier than anything I've ever written, and that is saying a lot. I find myself now suspected of setting the fires that ravaged Aglaura, because of the email I sent just before setting out on Tuesday night, in which I mentioned both the Library and the Park. They, of course, were the two locations hardest hit by the fires that night. I swear though, despite how things may appear and what some people are saying, I had nothing to do with the fires.

It comes down to this. Either I am certifiably insane, or someone has gone to a lot of trouble to make it look like I did all of this, set the fires in the very places I stated I was going that night. Conveniently or ironically, the fires seem to have destroyed many of the places that could have helped me figure out the truth. Why do I have no marks on me, though, if what I may remember really did happen? It doesn't make sense.

No, it doesn't make any sense. And I have no choice but to try and make sense of it, if I want to save myself and those I care about.

Do you think the body was of digitalis or someone else? Whoever is behind all of this is becoming very dangerous if not gutsy.

Just wanted to post this link again for people who may not have seen it in the Quick Ref section, it can be a bit difficult looking back through this thread to find all of Dales hidden entry links, so i've got them all up to date here if any new (or old) players want easy access:
