The '8' isn't in the same format (but then neither is the '2...' on the crate on Bermuda.
It's on the left, but not all the way - close to the top. A definite 8.

I still can't see it, it's in the cave and not outside right? must be it's just hard to see on my laptop. I'd think it would be more obvious and visible like the other new characters we've found.

After I pasted it into Word, and played with the brightness/contrast - I think it's just me. Sorry about the misleading there.
How about someone that's made it provide another clue?
If we were to identify what's missing - wouldn't we need a source to go by?

Looks like a white 8 on the rock coming over from the bottles about 1/3 of the way to the left... looks like a number to me!

Still struggling with this, but Castaway Cay does look better with the new numbers found. However I've tried all of the following and none work
2605n7731w – no
2606n7732w - no
2604n7732w - no
2604n7731w - no
2605n7732w - no
2606n7731w – no
Any PM hints to nudge me in the right direction?

They're probably ignoring you.. I know I would do the same thing if I knew the answer... to bad I'm spending all my time on this when I will probably have a different puzzle on the us site

have you tried putting a 4 as the second number? IF the second number is from Madeira then i think it is a FOUR
but i may be wrong!
