[EMAIL] From Phyllis Willingham July 11

A few weeks ago I sent Phyllis the following email.

Quote:
I understand from your website that you are currently closed, but will be re-opening in June. You advertise that you specialize in manuscripts. When you are again open for business, I would like to send you a scan of an illuminated manuscript that came into my possession 3 years ago. I would really appreciate your opinion on it's value, as well as any history you might know about it.

Just got this reply. I guess I'll send a scan of the page.

Quote:
Forgive the lateness of my responce. It has been quite a challange to get
caught back up after being away for so long. But thank you for writing. I
would love to take a look at your manuscript. I have a passion for such
things, and it would be a welcome distraction. I would be happy to give
you any information I might discover about it.

Thank you,
Phyllis

Hmmmmm so Phylis is 'in play' as we are about to 'encounter' the Mask of History Wink

I wrote to her just before the council meeting.....
Quote:
Dear Phyllis,

I hope you can excuse the intrusion. I understand you have a lot going on in your life right now with your husband in the hospital and trying to maintain some sanity while reopening your shop. I truly understand better than many would. The focus is, rightfully so, on the person being treated and yet there you are, the wife, trying to 'fight the good fight'. Keeping your lives together, advocating for your husband and yet have so many emotions yourself. If I can offer any support, I'd be happy to.

However, I am writing you on, what I feel, is an incredibly urgent matter.

....(the basic blurb I sent everyone in Aglaura posted previously)...

I know how hard it is to balance all the issues you already have on your plate Phyllis. However, you just may find that pulling away from your personal life, just long enough, to focus on something else, something that will greatly impact your community, will be a respite in some strange way. I appreciate you taking the time to read my concerns. I hope, in some small way, my concerns will convince you to oppose this matter with all your might.

Again, I apologize for the intrusion. I was driven to write you not only because I remember so well what it was like to be in your situation and wanted to offer my support but clearly this library issue is something I feel is so critical. I know I am a stranger but please DO feel free to contact me if you feel the need for an understanding ally.

her response....

Thank you very much for your wonderful letter. It's nice to know that someone else does understand. I am a very private person, and just the sheer energy it takes to keep a smile on my face and act like everything is alright has left me exhausted.

I too believe that a library is a place a gathering, a place of community. In fact, it was this very letter than reminded me the vote was going on. I had forgotten with everything that has been happening in my life. Thank you again, because otherwise, things might have gone very differently. Please forgive me for replying so very late. I'd had so many things to catch up on, and taking care of them has become overwhelming.

Thank you again for writing.
Phyllis

I sent an email quite some time ago too. I asked about the cutlery she had (the last pic, unknown) and the "6 lever" lock. I noticed on the Mayor's campaign that it said "Pull Lever 6A" and have no idea what that means Smile

Quote:

Dear Nahs,

Thank you for your interest in the Hollow Needle. The website should be
now fully functional, and you will be able to browse through various
pictures that have been posted. This is by no means our full inventory,
so please, stop by! There are countless other items available; the ones
featured on the site are just a few personal favorites. I also hope to
have more information about the cutlery you are interested in soon. As
for the lock, 'six lever' simply refers to the number of 'lever tumblers'
the lock has, making it fairly intricate for its time. I have been very
busy trying to get things in order after my time out of town. Thus, the
late reply. You'll have to forgive me for it, it's been quite hetic
around here.

We look forward to your business,
Phyllis

Nahs.

Just for comparison - and I agree it does look like Phyllis is definitely in play:

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 11:03 PM (mine had been a sympathy message regarding JD)
Quote:
Dear Steffeny,

Thank you for the sympathy. It's a little bit overwhelming to
get so manycondolences from people I don't know.

Iris is a dear friend of mine, and I hope her business
flourishes here in Agluara. And while I am sure that Wes would be amused by her taking over his former residence, I am not sure much investigating will be going on.

Though, I do suppose that Iris will be able to finally put to
rest therumors of building being haunted by the poor man. Let him rest,
I say! He did so little of it in life, he deserves it now.

Please also forgive the lateness of my reply. I've had very
little time to do much of anything since my return, but hope to be back on
track soon enough.

Thank you again,

Phyllis

Man, how I really love the personalized touches!
