FINAL UK RESULTS with description and picture

I got the same set of numbers for the UK puzzle, just the other way round.

As the numbers on the UK box lid were at the bottom, I read up the columns in the box, not down! So I got - 63099883.

Dunno if that was right, but I guess it's different!

Good luck to the finalists!

I've only just been able to get on to do the semi and the final parts of the game but i got them completed. I'm not going to say i didn't need a hint for the second task because i did but it was just one hint. The 1st one was relativly easy, took about 20 mins to figure it out then everything was written down anyway.
The second however was a bit of a challenge. I guess i just needed a shove in the right direction on how to work the humbers out.

I'm glad i finished because i was geting itchy feet everytime it said we had to wait for the next clue.
I'm haven't been doing this for the car as i don't drive *make of that what you will* but i don't. So i'm leaving it to the big boys.

If you find out where the final is being help please post as i'm sure everyone is dying to know.

Good luck to the overall winner Very Happy

EDIT: Merged with existing endgame thread. --Phaedra

Who thinks the final 8-digit number is a coordinate (without directionals)?

I have yet to find any posted, or that I found, that led me to Castaway Cay - nor any other place in the Carribean.

I've been to China, India, UK, etc - but no where near Jamaica.

I wonder if all the winners are 'in there' now?

At any rate - if anyone is still working on this - my thoughts were that if this was a final coord - then the solution to each site's puzzle should be the same (even if the method to arrive there is not).

Thus, I'm attaching a zip of all 6 puzzles (lids/sacks and boxes).

i find the puzzles for .us and .uk far more difficult than those for .at and .ep

i've entered 83608993 for austria, because of the number of lines needed for the "numbers" on the box, then arranged them in ascending order.

Hope that was it. Sad thing is, i did this today morning Sad

anywho

i think for the japanese solution we were kinda right with braille, because japanese braille is different.

so, hope to see you on some forgotten island

The Japanese box was particularly easy...just count the groups of same-colored dots to come up with the index number to get:
15487362

The Japanese lid was also easy -- add a top and bottom line to each digit and read them off:
38092586

Apply the index to rearrange the numbers and you have:
36508829

The japanese site opened many hours before the others, so this was the only thing we had to work on at first. All the countries used the same number and index method, and everything up to the last puzzles were the same. But the lid and box puzzles were different for most country sites, the numbers were different, and the final answers were different.

Still not happy with the described US solutions...

All of the puzzles so far have had a logical answer. It just seems to arbitrary to remove lines, count lines, count strokes, etc. The other world puzzles had clear numbers that could be deciphered, and I believe that the answer to the US puzzle still has not been posted on this site. Does anyone else feel the same, or am I by myself?

the box answer is correct i don't think anyone has come across the lid answer... why has no one come forward as a winner? I still believe it has something to do with spelling serenity.

I would have to say I agree.

Did I see somewhere that only 1 US contestant had been confirmed? Or did I misread someone's post? Confused

Supposedly KooK but I don't know how true that is. If I found the correct answer there is no way I would tell anyone just by chance no one else guessed correctly.

I hadn't heard that anyone was confirmed, nor would anyone be confirmed until after the site had closed (on the 15th?).

I haven't submitted an answer yet. Sure, it is well past the start time yesterday, but unlike previous puzzles, you only get one shot. That also means you can't just guess a bunch of numbers until you get the right coordinates. No coordinates here, just an 8-digit number.

I'm going to give this some more thought before I give up.

lid

No winners will be confirmed until the 17th.

I'm really not happy with any of the solutions so far to the lid. I'm also confused by the missing piece in the first column of the box. And the so far unused ssssssst. It's really not adding up as clearly as the other puzzles did. I have no Serenity.

There's a Serenity Bay on Castaway Cay.
