[CHARITY AUCTION] Shiny&Unique PxC Swag Greetings one and all,
I have verified this with the Unfiction deities, and lo, the Man from Del Monte, he, very kindly, says "Yes".
As a result of the recent film competition, Mind Candy issued a selection of shiny and delightful prizes. One of which has wound up in the collective grubby mitts of the team that were responsible for the "Pirates vs Ninjas" entry. In an effort to spread peace, love and general feelings of fuzziness to the universe, we present the following, for your delectation and delight: - The Ultimate Auction of Ultimate Power!
ALL proceeds from this will be going to a charitable cause - which one is currently under discussion, but will be confirmed tonight, and we'll put details on here as well as the auction.
The artwork itself is an exceptionally nice piece - terrifyingly large photos of it can be found here . We're more than willing to answer any questions on it, either via eBay, on an email, or in PM here.
Included within the auction are some nice extras which Mind Candy have kindly found for us too, including some signed cards and goodies - so thank you to them also.
Cheers
J

Cool Item!
Happy bidding everyone!
If you can't think of who to give the money to, why don't you donate it to Unfiction Forums?
Peace.

Just to add to Juxta's post: The money raised from the auction will be going to the NSPCC .
All the more reason to bid, methinks.

Ah yes, but what price history eh?
I think it's safe to say that we're very pleased with the interest shown so far, and if anyone has any questions about it, then we'll happily field them as best we can. Happy bidding.

Can I just add a little plea here, for future reference? I think this is a great thing, esp. the charity getting the proceeds. In fact it's a fabulous way to share out the swag bounty.
You may have noticed, down at the bottom of the forums, the "Donate" button, and the occasional Announcement in the upper right hand corner on the same topic. This is not mandatory. Unfiction hopes that people who appreciate the service will throw in the occasional crust to help keep the whole thing going. While the donate button is not completely ineffective, this is a private endeavor largely funded by SpaceBass and friends. And the bigger it gets the more the need for more/better servers etc can be felt. That costs.
My point? In future, if you're thinking about something like this on the forums, maybe think about donating a piece of the proceeds to the continued health of unFiction. End of unsolicited begging.

We did indeed think about donating some money to this forum, however, we decided that it was far more important to ensure the safety of abused and neglected children than to fund people's hobby.

I think tongue is firmly in cheek there...
...in other news, the bidding has reached a stonking £127.01 (with the penny being extremely important, of course).
Plenty more time to get in there though
