I received my leitmarks last Thursday, and since nobody mentioned anything about hearing from Cognivia or the Perplex City Academy, I dropped the PerplexCity.com people another e-mail Friday morning. I just got a response back (Thank you random anonymous perplexcity.com person!... They really should have an ID number or something so you could forward thanks to the right person, but I digress).

Quote:
I can confirm that, in this instance, we've been unmitigatedly rubbish. Our response to those that entered their details has been drastically delayed, but the people with right/wrong answers have now, at long last, been sorted into their respective queues.

They also mentioned there was a "Talon" in the right queue, but with a different e-mail address. I created a new addy after I entered the contest just for ARG stuff, which I used to e-mail them this time, so hopefully that's in my favor. They ended the e-mail with:

Quote:
Hopefully this means we'll be able to email all our entrants this week and get busy dispatching their testing materials! Apologies once again for our extreme slowness in this matter...

So hopefully this thing will finally be resolved. Of course when I e-mailed them last month they said they would contact the winners within the week, so take that how you will. To be fair it seems the Mind Candy people have been insanely busy lately, and having a hard enough time keeping up with things I doubt that this little side puzzle is a high priority for them at the moment. Better they get everything sent out now before the big San Franciso event ramp up starts though.

P.S. ...and dear gods, please let it finally be over soon, The Thread That Wouldn't Die can then finally be put to rest. If necessary, with a shovel to the back of the head.

Why use a shovel when an electric cattle prod works just as well?

I hope I was on the "right" list. I certainly guessed enough times Razz

It's been so long, I've moved house since I entered 'Mary Poppins' as an answer.

Likewise. When I put my answer in, I was a measly undergraduate, without my shiny degree in Classical Studies. That's changed since then, as has my location.

I'm sure you've all seen it by now, but Macavity has received a package of cards from Cognivia.... With the correct answer apparently being lightbulb.[/url]

Well, excellent! Now I get to wait for a week or two and see if I was one of the first hundred Razz

Good that it's resolved, though Smile

No, they were sent out from New York which means the UK folk get to wait. I got mine today and I'm in MN. Macavity got his yesterday and he lives in NY.

Ah, it's finally over. I got my "testing materials"... a single pack of cards, like everyone else so far. After a delay of a couple of months, I thought maybe there would be something a little more... creative, more unique. Not sure why it took so long just to open up three booster boxes and send out the packs.

All that said, Mind Candy didn't need to send out free cards to anyone, and you can't really complain about receiving free stuff. I got a silver, Water Music. I took some pics of the package, the envelope material is shiny but somewhat transparent, so you can see the pack of cards. I didn't notice anything unusual about anything, and there is nothing on the back of the letter or any of the labels.

Got my pack

Nope, my pack had a Whipsmart birthday - unfortunately no silver.

My Pack also contained no silver, but interesting to think that the pack's were labeled by CNV which is based in Perplexcity, but the packs are printed by mind candy from the CRT's designs. Oh, and the return address is from a company unrelated to either. So how did Cogniva send a whole bunch of "testing materials" to earth when it is suposed to be impossible(sorta) to use the perplexcity-earth link for objects? I guess I'll just forget about it.

I expect Cognivia told Mind Candy (who then told these other guys?) to just "send them some of those puzzle cards you're working on" or somesuch, since they can't get any of their physical material over here.
