I'd say they're the same person. If they really aren't the same actresses, it's possible that they switched because of some conflict and just tried to get someone who looked similar.

I'm inclined to agree. I think we are supposed to think Darla and GigetGirl are one and the same, and that she is now dead.

OK, I'm now convinced they are the same, but it's tough to explain. My wife, who draws portraits, explained it to me. She pointed to shapes all over the face where if you look closely are identical only at a different angle. Parts that I thought look different are mainly shadow issues, but an even closer inspection of fatial features reveals they're the same.

I still have trouble accepting that "Darla = GidgetGirl." Granted, all the pieces do fit, something about the way she said it in the video (which is the reason everyone interprets them being the same person) doesn't work for me.

Maybe it's just Silberhartz's acting, or the dialogue she was given.

Ok, I'll start with my list of female characters and their relationships to each other, in order of their first appearance in this game, as best I can remember. Please correct me if I've made mistakes of left out stuff.

1. Darla - female voice with Scottish accent on voicemail (Hugh McIntyre's voicemail warning him about problems with the Accellerated Remote Viewing training project in Sri Lanka). Most likely this person is also Darla Taft from the Global Wellfare Consortium. She and Hugh McIntyre were having an affair. Evidence points to her having died in car crash with Hugh in Paris.

2. Persephone - Hacker from the Hanso Foundation website and voicemail messages. Seems to be a single female, but could also be a group of people. Has sophisticated hacking skills and a grudge of some kind against the Hanso Foundation. Especially dislikes Hugh McIntyre, Thomas Mittlewerk and Peter Thompson. Seems to worry about where is Alvar Hanso. Takes her name from Greek mythology, the goddess of the spring who also exists in the Underworld, is daughter to the king of the gods, marries the god of the Underworld. There is also another hacker who writes, "Persephone, I know who you are."

3. Tonya/Tanya - Co-producer from the DJ Dan podcasts. Seems to be live in the studeo at some times and pre-recorded at other times.

4. Rachel Blake - Speaker in travel blog + videos. Says she is also Persephone. OOG casting call provides evidence that Rachel Blake is probably Persephone.

Rachel says she worked for Widmore (associated with the Hanso Foundation), never knew who her father was, and fondly mentions her mother as if she is dead now.

5. GigetGirl - Contacts Rachel + asks her to please take down the pictures of Darla + Hugh together. Says she will help Rachel after she does. Is given administrative rights by Rachel, who seems to trust her. She may actually be Darla Taft, given her insistance that the pictures of Darla and Hugh should be taken down and the way Rachel refers to her in her Paris video. Rachel either addresses GigetGirl, then says Darla was a good person, or says GigetGirl/Darla was a good person. Rachel also says she knew Darla was Hugh's mistress and that she knew Rachel was Persephone. I think these statements are meant to clarify our understanding that Rachel=Persephone and Darla=GigetGirl, but once again there is ambiguity in Rachel's words thst only serves to confuse us.


6. Undetermined - Female voice on recording made by Rachel of Thomas Mittlewerk and Peter Thompson talking. Sounds like Tonya/Tanya. Peter Thompson also sounds like DJ Dan.

7. Rachel's Mother - Probably dead, given Rachel's tone of voice when she talked about her. May have been an employee of the Hanso Foundation, given the statement on the MFI map at the Hanso site saying, "she was an employee of the foundation" and the same mapped region appearing on Rachel's public blog.

8. Liddy Wales? - Hanso executive who orginially had a picture of a man at the Hanso site, later replaced with a question mark. We have heard nothing more of this character since his picture disappeared. The name "Liddy" might suggest a female character, but this has not been determined yet.
