[TRAILHEAD?] (disunity) What is this countdown? Hey all. I used to have an account here, and played a few ARGs (most fully, the ancient Matrix ARG, Metacortechs), but it was apparently deleted. I'll hazard a guess that it was for inactivity.
Anyway, a forum I frequent (for a webgame called Nationstates) recently had a thread with the following URL in it: http://disunity.esusalliance.co.uk/. The poster never explained what the website was about, or what the counter was counting down to, but said that we should figure it out ourselves.
Naturally, some of us were curious, and proceeded to investigate, and it seems to be a quite blatant ARG. It's been underway for a while now (about two weeks), and we've made a little progress, but the "plot" has yet to emerge.
I thought I'd post it here in case some of you ARGers were interested.

Binary turns out to be something like:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
if (is_valid($disunity)) {
execute_transaction($usr);
} else {
destroy();
}
2465AD. It begins here.
and the URL is acctually ROT14, not 13
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://disunity.esusalliance.co.uk/china.html
On the bottom of that page there's

filelist.html
Which leads to

good work Audio - At the foot of the first page there is some text that translates to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Terran empire... Vanishes! The Earth dies.
On the second page there's some other ROT says
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
China left the Earth
and on the filelist page:

On the first page before the binary box comes up another box flashes, is anyone quick enough to get it?
Also you can click on the first green binary block and it takes you to a login screen saying: Verify Unauthorised attempts are logged. and the logged is a further link to here http://disunity.esusalliance.co.uk/userinput.txt which does seem to be a log of every entry, along with some code after each one
The code seems to be linked to the user, my attempts have all the same code after.

You missed a couple of words here, ADP. It actually reads:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In AD 2126, China left Earth.

Actually, that'd be We've got a fuckton of people here. 'Away' is some variants of piglatin's way of saying 'a'.

The code at the end is an HD5 hash of your IP address.

What if you add up the decimal representations of the binary codes? I tried adding up just the ones in green (837), but that didn't work. I have to leave in a bit, but if someone else wants to give it a shot, the green ones add up to 837, so just add that to whatever the white ones turn out to be.

Didn't work. I tried "disunity" and a few other things too, and those didn't work.

Oops, that was me. Anyway, I think our group has cracked it.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
If you look at the binary page while tipping your head sideways, the green binary looks like a stylised algebraic sum. Specifically, "7 + 1." So, we tried various versions of 8 - spelling it out, etc. Eventually, we tried the binary version (1000). Lo and behold, we got redirect to http://rachel.roundedlove.co.uk/

The tagline at http://rachel.roundedlove.co.uk/ is the arabic version of Leviticus 24:5 which reads: "Then you shall take fine flour and bake twelve cakes with it; two-tenths of an ephah shall be in each cake."
An ephah is about 35 liters, meaning that about 7 liters of flour should go into each cake.
Don't know if that will help at all.
