[email] Sam... Fish Guy July 7 Iris Problems July 12&17

Just realized I hadn't posted an email from Sam as I hadn't responded to her yet....

so on July 7th.... she responded to my response to her email posted here http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=15618

my email to her....

OMG wasn't that song a hoot?!?!? Alas, no, IRC is still an issue.... [edit out nonrelevant blub about my IRC stuff]....

MIB?!? The town I live in has that small town gossip type stuff too it can be amusing to see how stories change and are blown out of proportion. But MIBs, now that is a bit 'over the top' don't you think? Although, seems like Aglaura sure has had its share of things going on lately.... the fight for APL, Sarah's masks being stolen, missing people, DITB filming crew (have you seen some of those clips? talk about creepy), Mr Dunn's death, the list just seems to keep going.... isn't it odd how life can be like that some times?

As always, great to hear from you!

her response.... my guess is it is Phylis that doesn't appreciate her efforts.... story if Fish Guy is interesting Laughing

You're right - life shouldn't be that complicated or odd! Very Happy

If you ever do want to try to troubleshoot your way to an IRC solution, I can help you out. I'm the techie go-to girl for alot of people around here. And I'm telling you, bartering is the way to go in this town. Just over the last month I've gotten a homemade strawberry and rhubarb pie, a free dinner at the diner, a new set of bean bags and a chocolate cake for a few hours worth of computer work for my neighbors. Smile Of course, there's one person in town who doesn't quite get the concept of being thankful. I've been helping her do her website as a favor and she hasn't even had the decency to say thank you. Instead, she watches over my shoulder and goes on and on about how she doesn't think she really even needs a website and how e-commerce will one day be the death of courteous salesmanship. Sigh.

Btw, I'm fairly certain that there aren't real MIBs in Aglaura. Razz People around here have very, *very* overactive imaginations. It's really borderline ridiculous. I remember last year this guy started showing up around town. He was always wearing the same suit vest (no shirt underneath), pants and derby hat. He had long mutton chops and always had a bunch of green onions in his vest pocket. The first time I saw him he was walking out of the woods holding the biggest catfish I had ever seen by a big hook in its mouth. I'll admit, it was definitely weird. I mean, who fishes in a suit? And who knows where he caught that fish in the woods? Anyway, my lovely neighbor and the women from her bridge club were (and still are) convinced that this guy was a ghost. People started calling him "Fish Guy" because no one had ever gotten the chance to introduce themselves to him. He always seemed to show up out of nowhere and disappear just as quickly - always wearing that same suit. Once winter came he disappeared for good. I figure he was probably a homeless traveller who probably moved on once the weather got to cold for a guy with only one outfit. More likely than a partially well-dressed fisherman ghost, right?

So anyway, Aglaura certainly has its fair share of unique people, which I guess makes it a little easier for the people in town to come up with so many myths and rumors.

I hadn't had a chance to get back to her.... and got this email on July 11.... looks like Iris is not being sensitive about her HISTORY with Wes....

Quote:
I'm so upset I can barely breath! Iris Page has been nagging me to help her go through Wes's things and put them up on her website. I've been helping her with the rest of her site with hardly any problems. Ok, I'll admit... I'm probably being a bit touchy about the whole thing and I'm procrastinating, but she knows how close Wes and I were! She doesn't seem to get that it still bothers me that he's gone even though she's supposed to be so "in tune" with feelings. Yeah, right.

It bothered me a little when she chose the name for her store. In the back of my head I could hear the voices saying, "She's trying to use Wes... you must stop her". Ok, not really, but you know what I mean. I didn't say anything about the name, figuring it was best just to let it go. Then she starts trying to show me pictures she found in Wes's things and asks a bunch of personal questions. I let that go and just sort of rolled my eyes when she wasn't looking. But now she's having this "Devil Hunt" to celebrate the opening of the store in the "spirit of Wes" and get this - it's on his birthday. I can't take it.

Am I overreacting?

o.k. now I think you all are caught up Rolling Eyes

[email] Sam.... EOS site and Fire July 17

so I responded to the July 11th email with this
Quote:
Oh my! I'm not sure what to say..... definitely sounds like she clearly doesn't understand the history you have with Wes.... I am so sorry! I saw on her site the announcement of the 'devil hunt' and my first reaction was 'what?!?' and had to wonder who this 'expert' is that she's hired.... she claims to be wanting to 'honor' Wes and I can only hope that is her 'true' intentions.

Are you overreacting? Feelings are feelings girlfriend... I can only imagine how it would feel to have some stranger going through one of my best friends things and prying open memories..... I can imagine you'd want to yell.... BUT you didn't even KNOW him!!!!

BREATHE..... that's it..... nice and slow..... deeply in.... BREATHE! I wish there was more I could do to help you....

BTW.... sorry I hadn't gotten back to you after your last email.... things have been a bit hectic..... so the Fish Guy just disappeared never to return? How odd!

Hang in there kido! If there is anything I can do to help, just holler!

Sam's reply July 17th....

Thanks for calming me down a bit the other day. Smile And I'm sorry for venting on you like that. That woman just really pushes my buttons sometimes, ya know? Luckily, I haven't had to deal with her much the past few days. I'm trying to preserve my sanity by helping her as much as I can by phone and walking her through things step by step. If that fails, I can always set it up so that I can access her computer from my office. It'll be alot easier to tell her to just turn on her computer and watch me fix it. Thank goodness for VNC. Very Happy

Have you heard the news about the fires here in Aglaura? Things are just awful around here. The municipal building got hit... and the library and Ash Grove Park too, all in one night. No one was hurt, not physically anyway. Sarah is torn apart... the library is a total loss. I'm still processing it all. It's just so unbelievable that it almost seems like it can't be real.

Looks like it was Iris that put up the link which accidentally lead us to the letters from Phyllis to her Laughing

I wrote Sam offering help to test the Aglaura Intranet, as it happens I actually work as test engineer lol Razz

This is her reply:

Quote:
Boy, I could've used you a couple of months ago The IntraNet's
basically ready to go now and I'm just waiting for the final approval
for it to go live. It should be live in the next couple of days.
I'll drop you an email when it does so you can check it out.

Have you heard from Dale in the past couple of days? I'm really
starting to get worried about him. I don't know if you've heard, but
there were several fires in Aglaura last week that caused a great deal
of damage. I couldn't get ahold of Dale for days after it happened.
I finally did and he's okay... physically okay, anyway. Has he
mentioned anything to you about what's going on with him?

Note to me: remember Sam I'm a girl Razz
Now, as Dale stated in his blog he didnt want to involve Sam and Sarah in what it's going on with him, what should I tell her? Rolling Eyes Should I give her Dale's journal link? Hidden entries are pretty 'safe' for her not reading them...
