Have you seen a picture of town's old Church? It was much larger than the current church. It was a very large place, but looking at that drawing always made me think of home. I've never been able to put my finger on why. I guess it is because an old preacher is going to think that the center of a town should be its church. After the furor of the past week, I find myself longing for the quiet of its sanctuary. Accusations lie upon every lip and nobody trusts anyone else. It reminds me of the last time I...

Forgive an old preacher for starting his talk with an old, burned down church. I'm sure you want to know more about the Wylie House. I could talk about the departed spirits who live there, but I have always thought that the departed were in the Lord's hands. Even though I am now myself departed, I still think that way.

The Wylie house is one of the oldest houses in Bay Horse. I never could track down who built the house, but the man who built it, Forrest Wylie, was a good man who brought a lot of prosperity to Bay Horse when he moved in. He came to Bay Horse at the end of his life, and brought his money with him. He didn't merely renovate the Wylie house, but also several other buildings in the area. I've stayed in the house a long time, and was overjoyed when Madame Z purchased it... before that, the only visitors I would get would be the occasional curious teenager, looking for any secrets that Forrest Wylie might have left behind.

There is a puzzle within this message...

Each sentence is from a bible passage. After looking them all up, the first letter of each book from the bible spells out "All hide secrets. Z needs dread heat." I have no idea what "dread heat" could mean. Feel free to double check my bible search skills.


I plan on emailing Anton my findings after I get confirmation from some of the other agents as to the accuracy of the solve.

I spend as much time as I can in the tallest part of the Wylie house, the tower. From there I can see the new church. It is so much smaller than the old church. I suppose sometimes majesty is false, and it must be destroyed to make for something honest and pure. I can see the cemetery from my vantage point. So many people. My flock… and there were so many of them I could not tend to in their last years. So many of them turned away from me, spit or raged when I came near. How is it that they could pass peacefully away to the places, heaven or hell or whatever else exists in these dead lands, and yet I can not? What holds me here? Is it the same thing that keeps Mr. Emerson here? I've heard him late at night, raging and cursing at "the system" and, specifically, a man named "Roger."

I sense you may have a question for me. I cannot tend to anyone but people who live far away from me now, but I still wish to do what I can. Please ask me whatever you wish.

I asked him about the fire.
