I need help with a puzzle for Jasmine Marshall - it's a picture that says "Name That Tune" then has a black box then it says "By:" and has some music notes
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I figured out that the music notes spell out Cage, which is a band, but I'm stuck there. I've never heard the band, so I don't know what I should be looking for
Any help would be very much appreciated

Could you post a pic of it. Maybe we can help.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There is a musician called John Cage and he wrote a piece called Black Mountain. Hope that helps.

It won't help much, it says Name that tune at the top, a black rectangle, then some notes, as identified above.

i think that my suggestion above is probably on the right track. It's in the right time to (a few years before jasmine died). You can find a complete list of his works here

H'm. I'm still stuck - converting from the number system in question to the usual one still doesn't make any sense. I'm getting:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
5 10 R 500 1000 900
. . . which doesn't seem right to me. I must be doing something wrong.

for the "Name that tune" puzzle, I pulled out the colormap using gimp, I'm not sure if it'll mean anything to anyone, but it's worth a try:

Thought that may mean something to a music buff. to me, it's jiberish.

for the music one:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
i think it is john cage also. i haven't seen that puzzle yet but if the music notes spell out cage than that is probably it. he was very famous at that time. he wrote a song called four walls. have you tried that?

first i would like to make a suggestion that people post a picture of the puzzle they are talkling about. its much easier for people to help that way.

For the roman numeral:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Follow the dots in order. Then use google to find a conversion site and then type the number on the box.
That goes beyond spoiler. That's the solution.
It's been a while though and it seems like folks are having a heck of a time with this so let's put it to bed.

I don't have it. Which advisor has this one? Perhaps it's under their thread.
