[PFF] Obituaries from Bay Horse Public Records Now on the Bay Horse website, we can search obits:
Here's what I've found:
Obituary for nickolas marshal
"Pill Baron" Nickolas Marshal and his wife dead in car crash.
February 14, 1956
Nickolas Marshal 1891-1956
Jasmine Marshal 1924-1956
Nickolas Marshal, a Bay Horse native who made his fortune in pharmaceutical supplies, died when his car collided with a tree on the outskirts of Bay Horse on Monday. His wife Jasmine, riding in the passenger seat, was also killed in the crash. One witness said that she had her arm around his shoulder, and a hand on the wheel, like "one last embrace." Nickolas was an inspiration to everyone at Bay Horse as he, along with his college sweetheart, created Marshal Chemicals, a major supply house for pharmaceutical companies. He met and married his second wife, Jasmine, just one year ago. Jasmine Marshal was a singer known all over the world for her sweet voice. Neither Jasmine nor Nickolas have any living relatives. The visitation and funeral arrangements will be held in St. Louis.
Former Pastor Samuel Buckwell dead at 73
March 2, 1939
Samuel Buckwell 1866 - 1939
Samuel Buckwell died of cardiac arrest in his home Sunday at the age of 73. He was Bay Horse's preacher until the fire of 1906, after which he worked at the Bay Horse lumber mill as foreman until he retired. He leaves behind no relatives. There will be no visitation. He will not be buried in the town plot.
In order to get Emerson and Lahmina's obits, we need their first names.
Any ideas here?
Also, did Jasmine cause the car to crash? Who was Nickolas' college sweetheart? Why was Samuel not buried in the town plot?

Definitely more to that crash
DEFINITELY more to the "preacher" man, why wasn't he the preacher when the church was rebuilt? and both the obit, and previous comments, indicate he was hated by the rest of the population, what did he do?
For the first names I guess that's a question for the next time we get to ask.
EDIT: Just to confirm, the search only gives results for full names, I've also tried dates and get nothing.

I figured out emerson's name
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
in the new case notes, emerson mentions "Roger" and then asks anton if he likes his pa, so i figured that roger emerson might be his father. so i looked it up and it said that he died in 1926 and was survived by his son, troy emerson.
i'd also like to find out who the "gregory" that the duchess mentions. i tried "gregory lahmina" to see if it was her husband but no dice.

So he killed himself at the Wylie House and he wasn't a very nice person. Could it be possible that Troy is either lurking around the house hidden from everyone....or...maybe he assumed someone else's identity and one of our advisors is Troy? Just throwin stuff out, seeing if it sticks.
BTW nice work Axis'

I think we can assume that Troy is Mr. Emerson. I think we should warn Z about him.

I just realised that the Marshals died on Valentine's Day .
Grrr... And I wasted my damn question asking her why she thought their death was romantic. I guess now I know, even though she hasn't responded yet (or any of the others for that matter).

First post here, but I had found another obituary you might find interesting:
Local Adventurer E.S. Dies
April 26, 1906
E.S. Wylie 1806-1906
E.S. Wylie, world traveler, adventurer, author, and philanthropist was found dead in his home Monday morning by his friend Samuel Buckwell. Mr. Wylie spent the majority of his life traveling the world, exploring the unknown and writing travelogues of his adventures. When he retired twenty five years ago, he made Bay Horse his home. The next twenty five years were marked by seemingly never-ending charity to the citizens of Bay Horse, and no one here is like to forget his annual town-wide parties. Mr. Wylie is survived by two sons and a daughter, none of whom are named in his Will.

Interesting!! What did you put in the input box to get this? And I wonder if dear ol' SB was the only one named on the will.

ES Wylie - Madam Z(anzibar) gave me the name in response to my question - I'll post it over in the right place.

Three things stand out to me so far in the obituaries:
1. There was corrupt business going on in town through the Emerson family line (Roger most likely)
2. Wylie had three children, maybe sired on his adventures elsewhere.
3. Nickolas Marshal was previously married to his sweetheart, with whom he started a company. She may have died or they could have been divorced. She could originally have been DM, remarried or had the original name DZ, and Madame Z(anzibar) is her daughter?

Another thing: when ES Wylie died in 1906, he was found by Samuel Buckwell, whose church burned down the same year.

I only just noticed that he was 100 when he died. Impressive, especially in those days.
