new email on my Myspace from John:

Quote:
Thank you so much! I was contacted briefly by Stephen moments after he spoke to you, and he informed me of your work. While I am pleased that we at least know something of what the group are planning, I am very scared about the computer in question being rebuilt. What could this mean? Why would they want her to be stronger? She is already one of the most sophisticated machines in the earth capable of endless amounts of damage. I just get the feeling we are sitting ducks at the moment.

Something Stephen said to me last night made me think. He said that you suggested we should 'give them the slip' so to speak. Maybe if we all put our heads together we could come up with a plan? We need something we can work with, something you guys can target and unwrap. I can't go into any more detail at the moment but we can speak properly on AIM soon. I am certain she can not log our words on there.

Speak to you all soon my friends.

Well, since this is Alice, I'm keeping my Trump card idea back for a while until/if she becomes more active.

To give the BHG the slip for the moment... hmmm.. faked death? Perhaps police protection? Maybe even have them 'arrested' by their own fake police and taken into holding. I think the best thing is to give the BHG conflicting stories however, so they have to pick apart the answer and truth before continuing, I doubt they have the manpower to just sweep the entire city for them.

Perhaps a reply to the note in the same tone as the original. "Nice Note, we fear no little girls, we have safehouses all over the SE, have a nice search!".

Of course, then you could double bluff and actually hide in the SE of London... or even triple bluff and not.. but do... but not... *confuses self and goes to find a new teacup*.

I think it's a good idea Obes. Russ, seems like a good way to pass the message. Let's the BHG know that we cracked theirs.

I'm for a go on this.

I say either send them coded song lyrics to confuzzle them, or hack 'em! Twisted Evil

Looks intriguing. After some manic catching-up, I'm in.

Perfect! I love it.

Should at least keep them busy.

I suppose we should ask the Doc if he thinks this is a reasonable idea. The other Alice themed thing we could do is send them meaningless riddles (encoded of course), or jumbled images to force them to stop and work whilst thinking they'll get a key clue or something to the location of their 'targets'.

I'm on board for this idea. Nothing like adding our own puzzles to the mix Smile

But shouldn't the key shift line actually be:

er jsbr dsgr jpidrd s;; pbrt yjr

because I got "we gave..." from the current one...

Hmm...What I gathered from John's email wasn't so much that we should start sending puzzles back to the BHG, but more along the lines of what John should look for to get back at them, like a website or something. That's mostly because of the line: "We need something we can work with, something you guys can target and unwrap."

Plus, I'm not sure it's a good idea to give away who we are and that we're working with John. If we do that, it could put them in even more danger. And if they get Alice up and running, they could sick her on us as well, hampering communications with John and the others.

My idea is, if the puzzles are sent, they should be sent from an unidentified group, that way it appears that a fourth party is aware of Alice and seeking it (Wonderland Society, the UK gov't, BHG, and our unnamed group). That way, it still throws BHG for a loop, and John and the others aren't directly tied to us, and we can still work with them. Maybe the Rabbit Hole Group or something (I dunno, I'm just tossing out ideas Smile).

Any thoughts on this? I think it's a good idea to get the message to BHG that we can match them in wits, but I'd hate to see it put John and the others in even greater danger.

Unfortunately they said yesterday:

Quote:
[22:45] Wonderlandsoc: Wonderland Society spent nine years looking for one. It does not exist. Alice is a tool neither the BHG or the government want anyone to know about. Of course if we do find anything you will be notified immediately

So on that front I dont think we will find any leads without them giving them to us.

I agree I think it will divert attention and make it easier for wonderlandsoc to communicate with them diverting attention on a number of fronts. Alice is not up and running yet so we do have some time and can rely on human error for the time being. I think the group name is fine too, or we could have something jabberwocky related Razz

I really like the return puzzle idea coming from a fourth group. How about the White Hand Group (which also comes from the 1920's Serbian reference). If you look it up (here), they weren't goody-goody, just opposed to the BHG.

That actually sounds like the best idea rolerbe as all the references to wonderland names could give the BHG the idea that we are related to wonderland Soc. WHG gets my vote.

question

I like the WHG idea, but has anyone thought about how we're going to get a message to the BHG???

It's not like they gave us an email address and said, "Hey, lets chat guys...maybe send some puzzles back and forth."

or did i miss something?

From the sound of things, I think we have to worry more about hiding things from the BHG. As cautious as John and co. are being, it shouldn't be hard to bring things to the BHG's attention. I get the idea that BHG has Alice working in some capacity, possibly only the software side. They're reassembling her, which means joining the Alice Software to the ultra-powerful computer that made her ultra-powerful. I think John will know the best way to get a message to the BHG.

**edit: we could use this pic as our 'logo' Twisted Evil Now I'm starting to get into this.
