Anyway... you could be right, but it still seems strange to me that Persephone would trash two of the other two people on that particular screen, but leave Liddy and Dick alone.

You think everyone at Enron knew what was going on?

No, but most everything else on the site was hacked in some way, but they were left conspicuously smear-free.

Oh. By the way, all that "He wants me to help you" business?

Ignore it. I have no idea what that guy was talking about.

I call shenanigans! She looked down at the moment the guy was saying that and the audio gets all choppy. I think Rachel is clearly trying to hide her real identity, as Ironman obviously knows who she is. He references her mother too.

Right! For a soldier of truth she sure is a big fat liar!

I trust the Fixer more than I trust Rachel. The fact that she is not telling us something means that whatever that is, it would not be likely to raise up her status in our eyes. If it was indeed something that was going to help her or make us trust her more, she would have told us by now. She's trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

However, I'm wondering why it's being done so sloppily. The video she provided has obviously been creatively edited in certain parts to keep her secrets safe, but why did she let that "He wants me to help you" part go through, only to tell us later on her blog to "ignore it" (thus drawing our attention to it and actively casting suspicion upon herself)?

How come she didn't just also edit that part out? It would have likely been slightly less suspicious to edit out that audio and say nothing, rather than leaving something potentially revealing in and saying "ignore it." I suspect, because this isn't something a real person would be likely to do if they were trying to hide something, that this is probably a plot device.

I have a hunch that the PTBs probably left in that portion of the audio and then threw in the command to "ignore it" so that it would be made obvious to all players that Rachel cannot be trusted. If this is true, then they have seriously underestimated us.

Kudos to the writers for some quality cheesy lines in this video:

"Don't! ... don't. I'm going to hell... I'm just making sure Mittlewerk is there to keep me company."
I thought it was a great line. It reminded me of Huckleberry Finn. Laughing

EDIT: (This is my second try. I had a better post all typed out with some clever points, but Unfiction ate it. Why do I bother?)

In the meaty and squidgy world of meta, it's probably because we are drones who will forget about any badly made or poorly scripted sequences as soon as a new puzzle comes along. Unless of course we have multiple wikis and forums following the entire process... Oh wait! Shocked

I hope they aren't underestimating players. I hope this is all intentional and not just badly made and I hope that it will all come together nicely in a Lost like fashion. But cynical players like myself need a shorter leash and perhaps a little more faith. This faith, of course, needs to be spoonfed to me.

Because one day, you will be king.
