This is perplexing.

The building I thought might be the Capitol (but it wasn't quite right) is apparently the White House. OK so far.

But there is no reflecting pool to the east of the Washington Monument - that's all grass. So why is it the same color as the area that is clearly the Tidal Basin (which is water, attached to the Potomac River)? (And yes the money bag appears to be at the location of the extremely lovely Jefferson Memorial that overlooks the basin.)

And the round museum (the Hirschorn) is to the west of the Air and Space museum, not east. To the west of the Hirschorn is a complex of several smaller museum buildings around a nice garden. That's the three buildings that appear in the next puzzle piece over. And the Hirschorn should be closer to them than to Air and Space. (Or in the alternative, did they intend to omit the Hirschorn and the circle is a representation of the glass-ceilinged atrium/cafeteria area that sticks off the east side of Air and Space? (which is not circular))

And the big square thing to the west of the Washington monument? Yes, probably intended to represent the WWII memorial, although the memorial isn't really rectangular - more ovalish. And it's not a building - it's plaza, pillars, fountain. And the scale isn't really right. Or if they meant it to be the Lincoln Memorial (at the western end of the mall), OK that is square but then we're missing the entire reflecting pool that runs the length of this side of the mall.

And for completeness - I have no quibbles about the representation or relative locations of (left to right) the National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, and the National Gallery. Although they left out the East Wing of the National Gallery and the National Museum of the American Indian (east of the National Gallery and of Air and Space, respectively).

treasure hunters

I was actually on the NBC site at about 8:45 and you could click onto this weeks puzzle to play. But I was directed to a NBC site that said that that page does not exist anymore.

Not very www savvy so many of you may have already seen this happen.
