We need a refresher

Alright, we really haven't seen updates on any actual information in the past several days (expt 10/31 incident), and I am a little disappointed.

Lets make this topic about the past. Lets look at everything big that we have done, and try to put it together into one big picture.

We can start with the day the website started, September 30th.

Questions relating:
1. Who made it? UNKOWN (Wach. Bros?)
2. Is this related to the matrix? Yes (Agents, Glitches)
3. Why is this here? To solve a puzzle of some kind. But what for?
4. What happens when it is solved? ???
5. Lots of web sites = lots of money
6. Neo's involvement? (irrelevant?)
7. Hidden messages in wallpaper/screensaver? Maybe. (If you look at it zoomed out it actually looks like it could be ripples in a brick wall. From Neo? Reloaded?) Idea
8. Code in the opener.
9. What does this all mean?????

Just a few starter questions.

I just felt like we might have missed something small which would turn out to be big. Lets try from the beginning again.

Although, if this fails, it has been a while since any new posts on the news page have been made. I am thinking that something on one of the sites will change very soon. Like they are saving up some info for when Matrix:Rev comes out. Its not going to end on the 5th, it will just give us more, might I say, much needed info.

Speaking of which, MATRIX REVOLUTIONS, TWO DAYS!!!!!!
AHHHHH the anticipation AHHHHH

Sorry I think all this information has just got my brain wacked out and running in Matrix overdrive.

Late.

seems like you havnt read all of the stuff about...when u said about the hidden message in the wallpaper, did you mean the one with all the binary in the background? coz thats already been translated...

i dont see any of this linking to neo, they probably put thomas anderson in on the member directory just to show it is related to the matrix, i doubt any of this will lead to main matrix characters, and to be honest...i hope it doesnt. Id rather the game just continued taking place inside the matrix, but away from the characters and story will already know of. But anyway, prolly is a good idea to discuss and refresh some of the things you pointed out, and more...and hopefully they bring out a new clue or something soon, just need something more to work with. As for how we "complete" this game I dont know, i cant see how it could end to be honest, and i certainly dont see any prize at the end, other than self-satisfaction, and the joy of taking part...which for me is enuff.

I haven't heard of or seen any "agents" being discussed in the game. Some have speculted, but it's nothing more than conjecture at this point.

For fun!

Both of those questions have been answered to some extent in older threads. The wallpaper at Metacortechs has a "hidden" binary message that's been decoded, the flash intro has some "code" in it. Search some of the old posts for the stuff that's been discovered.

We haven't seen any direct Matrix connections yet, besides some "minor" things (Thomas Anderson -- **Transferred**, the Metacortex website, "glitches", etc)

It's just my personal opinion, but I think we need to refrain from making leaps in assumptions that are Matrix related... Such as talking about things like Agents, and glitches in the Matrix. While these could very well be part of the game, as of yet, nothing definitive has corroborated these ideas.

It's obviously fun to speculate on the explanations of thing, but we need to avoid passing off speculation as fact. What can happen is that somebody reads something about Neo, an agent, and the Matrix, and then jumps to the conclusion that this has been determined as a fact, while it was only speculation.

I guess my point is to make sure that we separate know *facts* about the game from our own speculations on what things are or what they might mean.

Very Happy

This is a matrix spin-off game. We havnt seen any agents or anything like that, but this game takes place in the matrix...the glitches alone show that, let alone other things...do some people still not know whether they think this is a matrix spin-off or not, because its obvious it is. You may reply saying "that is only speculation, you have no proof" or something...but if you dont think this is a matrix spin-off game, then what the hell do you think you're playing? lol

I dont think its the direct work of the Wachowski bros...but this game must be costing a lot of money, its obviously a team of people, but whether they fund it out of their own pockets or not I dont know, especially if they dont get anything back financially...who knows o.O?

I'm not so sure - the guy Dina describes, the impossibly clean guy in the sharp-fitting suit sounds almost undeniably like an agent.

"Men in Black" are a major element in UFO culture and other paranormal investigations. They were around 50 years before the Matrix came out.

I don't wan't to be a spoil sport, but I just don't see the fascination with understanding who is responsible for this ARG.

Given that Revolutions opens in just over 24 hours (39 odd hours here, to be precise) we can safely discount any connection to the Revolutions Prem. So it obviously isn't related to the movie... but there is a very Post-Matrix vibe about this ARG. Who knows, it might be linked to the Matrix Online, but that means we'll be playing for months to come and while this isn't a bad thing, I can see myself winding up unemployed and crazy by that time.

Theres a lot of spec, and a few people have become very disgruntled about having their posts censored when they pointed the finger, but I really fail to see the need to look behind the curtain here. When I was playing Enter the Matrix I didn't give a damn that it was a Shiny game published by Atari... all I cared about was that it was a damn good game.

I feel the same about this.

Just my 2c anyway. I'm not trying to discourage spec about this, but really, it doesn't get us any closer to solving the October 1 paintover picture. Very Happy

OFF TOPIC...

Enter the Matrix was quite a good game (I own a copy) but come on it could of been better.

Thats how Men In Black are explained in the matrix, they are agents...just like you explain the bermuda trinagle by saying its a glitch in the matrix...

Yeah... I'll admit that. (Enter the Matrix)

For one thing it was still too short... Very Happy

Still, it was enough to get me off Halo for a good month or so...

I explain the Bermuda Triangle as a tectonically active zone with large deposits of frozen methane that sometimes break free, turn into gas, rise up through the water column to sink ships, down airplanes, and cause hallucinations. Very Happy

As for the Matrix, you'll always be able to find a way to relate something to the Matrix, so there's no point in arguing about it.
