Archimedea, the phone puzzle is a hard one to give gentle hints for, but I'll do my best.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It has to do with what letters are on each number of a phone dial.
Much bigger hint:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Look into triple-tap text messaging.

Oh heavens, is nothing safe? Now Madame Z has been attacked by someone alive! Someone's trying to force us away from contacting the world. Do they not want me to help people contact their perfect friend? I think it has to be Jasmine! She hates Madame Z! That's what she was yelling at Nickolas! Zanzibar! She's always yelling a name too... but I don't remember what it was.
So now we know Madame's name - Zanzibar

If someone gets a chance to ask the Duchess a question, could you ask her if her mother is Cathy Miller and if she has any children?

she could not be the duchesses mother, it says in her obit that she had sons, no daughters. but it could be her grandmother.

it said she was survived by sons, but if the duchess had died before Cathy's death, she could be the dead daughter

true. i think its possible that she is the duchess, and that she lied about her age and name and thats why she wears the veil.

There is such a thing as too much attention. My past, who cares about my past? My past was dismal, dull, and gray. I was a shining start for one brief moment, and then it was snuffed out. No one is going to be cheered up by that! No one is going to remember that bleak day fondly! Please, no one dig into my past any more. You won't like what you find. No, no... concentrate on finding Madame Z's assailant, and bring peace to the troubled souls in Bay Horse

The Duchess revealed!!!!
I asked the Duchess the question: Who is Cathy Miller?
Her response:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It's me. I admit it! I wear a veil because I didn't want anyone to see my face, because they might recognize that I'm Cathy Miller, and I died in a bed in a hospital. It was old age, old age and an unglamorous life. I hope you're all satisfied now.
so that's another mystery solved! The Duchess is pretty tragic, really.

Actually it's not solved yet. If she died of old age then why is she still here? What's unfinished for her?

100% lol
and here's what the lady sang:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
How can a person's life be measured out by one twist of fate, one action over which she has no control? Should I have suffered quietly after life had brought me so low? Is it wrong to start your life over, to make a clean break and rebuild what was lost? I just wanted to be in that spotlight one more time. Is there anything wrong with that?
and yes that means I got the answer to A Coddled Night
