Small puzzle contest! (Prizes including ComicCon card code!)

So. I recently had some good fortune, and found myself with an excess of both Blacks and a coveted spare ComicCon code (provided to me by a friends who attended the con). And seeing as I both love puzzles, and enjoy giving things away, I figured I'd combine the two, and have a small contest to give away some of these extras.

The prize list:
#P01, Issue 0, A Call from the Past (I have two of these)
#198. Headrush
#208, Freak Word
#209, Little Pigley Farm
#215, Harmony
#217, Tower of Cubes

I will be accepting entries until Midnight on the 31st.(The midnight before the launch, not after) You may enter up to three times - I will let you know how many of the sequences you have correct after each entry you submit. Your final entry submitted will be considered your "actual" entry into the drawing, so if you had 4 right on your second entry, and 3 on your third, too bad.
Each person may have only one (1) final entry into the prize drawing.
The top 6 entrants into this contest will all receive a card of their choice from the list. There is only one of each card, however, so the better you do, the more likely you are to get the card you want. I sadly don't have the physical version of #P01 at the moment, so you'd be receiving (for now) only the code. I would post you the card when I receive them in the mail. Choice order will be determined by the place you earn in the contest. In the case of a tie, choice order will be determined by a roll of the almighty D20. (Phew, I think that's everything)

Please Forum PM your answers to me - I will respond to them as soon as I possibly can.

SO! On to the actual contest.

Complete as many of these 5 sequences as you can.
Hint: As many (read:all) people seem to be falling into the same trap, I feel obligated to mention that all five patterns have a trick common to the lot of them - once you discover this trick, some of the patterns may become more readily recognizable. Think common ciphers
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Apply the most common cipher you can think of in the ARG world before trying to solve.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Not all of these letters represent words.

V J G O B G V J G _ _ _
(Before I receive this answer again, no, it is not "OBG". These letters actually represent something - it is not a repeating answer >.<)

O P R T X Z _ _

U U R Y V O R _ _

O T N U O U _ _

H V V H J T O _ _

even if (lol, rather, when) i dont win, i'd like to thank everyone who's giving P01 codes away. Cube hunters are serioulsy the nicest people on earth, even when it's all a contest!

aye

Indeed. Not to mention the blacks being made available Smile

This puzzle is KILLING me. I've even cross referenced sequence databases with modified values and tried tons of ROTs to find some slightly hidden patterns to no avail.

I think I got the first couple (I could be wrong though) but the last few I'm still pretty clueless about.

Going to start trying possible anagrams and whatnot.

Any hints available? Very Happy

I'll think about posting some hints as time rolls along - but remember, you can send answers to me three times. If you think you have a couple, send as many of them over as you like, and I'll tell you how many are right.

Heh. I reread everything but I just want to be clear... the THIRD time we send you answers is considered our final submission, correct?

Excellent. Well I've sent you a couple guesses for the first two, want to let me know how I've done? Thanks.

The same trick is played on all five sequences of letters. The letters themselves, however, may not be used to repesent the same sort of thing in each sequence.

Updated hints in the first post... I've still yet to get a single correct pattern, so I figure I should probably throw people a bone.
