[EMAIL] Sam July 25 - Dale didn't do it.

Quote:
I am positive that Dale did not start the fires, but I don't think the
majority of people here in Aglaura agree with me. People are looking for
a scapegoat in this and Dale is starting to look like the most fitting
candidate. I've been trying to counteract the negative whispers I've
been hearing with "positive Dale talk", but I don't know how much good
I'm doing. I'm scared that this is going to get much worse soon. I
don't know what else I can do to help him.

Sam

I feel she wants me to tell her something, but I'm not sure what exactly... any ideas?
I've thought of showing her the bumper sticker with Wes message, maybe she reconsider her idea about Iris Razz

Anyway, I'll be away for holidays the next 10 days, so I'll have to catch up then Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I think she is looking for some kind of proof that Dale didn't do it. What she said in my email was if I wanted to help HEr to help Dale because that is the only thing she cares about right now. (in so many words)

EDIT: I think we need to get Sam to do some investigating of the Mayor and possibly find some information on Marzent from the city records.

I actually wrote this as a submission to the Aglaura Citizens Speak Out. I titled it "Aglaura Daughter Speaks Out". Guess Sam just thought it was directed to her. Maybe she'll publish it anyway (I replied tonight giving her permission).

have been saved."

Now Mayor Dobbs is showing where his vote would have gone? He would
have broken the tie in favor of Marzant's plan? Any chance we can
have a look at his campaign financial statement?

Digital file servers can easily be damaged and more would have been
lost since the servers and storage media take up less room (so easier
to destroy).

And, by the way, even if the measure had passed, I doubt any of the
books would have been copied in less than a month, much less all of
them.

How about if there had been a modern fire suppression system when the
library was remodeled recently? Like the one in the new municipal
building?

I think someone really wants the library building destroyed (jeesh,
wonder who that could be???) and when they didn't get their way in
the council meeting, they resorted to alternative methods.

Heather,

Isn't that the most ridiculous thing? Never have I wanted so badly
to "accidentally" delete something as when I had to put that up on the
site. Sometimes I can't tell if he's serious when he says things like
that or if he really is just that clueless. Hrm, I probably should
shut my mouth though considering he's the boss, right? Anyway, I
completely agree with you. We wouldn't have been done digitizing the
books by now and even if we were chances are we wouldn't have had them all backed up and at a secondary physical storage location.

I've wondered about "them" and whether they had anything to do with
the fires. I know Dale certainly didn't set the fires and we don't
really have many ruffians around here who would do such a thing. It's
scary though to think *anyone* would go that far to get what they
want, isn't it?

Have you heard the good (yet still somewhat sad) news? Phyllis
Willingham is moving to Princeton to be closer to JD (that's the sad
part), but she's giving her house and the Hollow Needle to Sarah to be
used as a new library!

Sam

my email to her...

Oh my, did I not respond to your last email? It looks like I left it in my inbox and obviously got distracted.....

You know, you are welcome to vent anytime you need to girlfriend! The 'hunt' was last night, right? Well, at least that is over and done with! I hope you had a chance to get off by yourself and think of your friend Wes.

I don't know what to say about the fires..... now, it looks like folks are blaming Dale?!?!? That's just ludicrous!!!

With all the strange things that have been going on in Aglaura I can understand how bewildering it must be....

her response....
Quote:
I avoided the hunt last Friday and decided I wanted to spend some time alone. Like you said... to think about Wes. I planned to just go home, open up a half gallon of Moose Tracks ice cream and eat the whole thing, right out of the container. The bossman could tell I wasn't myself and, as usual, he had no clue what was going on. He asked me to come over to dinner and I said no thanks, but seriously, he *wasn't* going to give up. I finally said yes and figured I would at least be able to make a quick exit before the dessert. Our dear mayor can't hold his wine, so he's usually ready for bed halfway through the main course.

If I believed in the Fates, I'd say that they spun me a thread with the perfect excuse to get out of dinner that night. This guy came into work asking for hotel recommendations. He drove in all the way from Hammonton for Iris's devil hunt and to save my day! Dobbs has this saying that he says, "Any guest of Aglaura is a personal guest of mine". So I decided to take him up on it for this guy Peter! So I got my nice night alone with my Moose Tracks and White Russians, Peter got a place to stay and Dobbs got a dinner date!

The night alone did me good, I think. I watched a few home videos and cried my eyes out... it's been awhile since I've cried about him.

[spec] Hmm what do you think the significance of Phyllis going to princeton is? Perhaps she is out of the story for now? Or maybe we can go visit her there? I think that having the library in the house is a BAD idea! There is something in that basement and if there are people there all the time we will never know what it is!

[spec] She never makes it to Princeton. Malignant forces kidnap/do away with her on the way there. They want JD to stay the way he is.

Seems to be an easy way to get Sarah into the old house. Will Sarah be moving from one area where there's walls to another as we go on?
