[PUZZLE] Bruce's Blog -"Hack" Marzent- July 28

From an update at http://www.anonymousfame.com/iambruce/blog.html
Looks like we need to take "steps" to get into the Marzent site.
edit: to add link to marzent.com

Anyone seen a login screen?

At this point, I don't think we have a way of accessing a private IntraNet. The only two, other than Bruce, I can think of who might be able to are Dale and Sam. But then Dale may only have access to Marzent's InterNet site and not their IntraNet and maybe Sam only has access to the Aglaura IntraNet. Then there is Diana, but I don't think we can trust her yet and we haven't found a way to contact her yet.

We might be able to once the Aglaura IntraNet goes live or at least we might be able to view the site or maybe we will get to do a little hacking then.

An email from Sam to Jetamo
Quote:

Jetamo,

Everyone who lives in Aglaura will be able to create an account on the
IntraNet. Non-Aglaura residents will be able to sign up to view the
IntraNet as guests, but won't be able to create their own resident
account. Aglaura businesses can also create accounts and include
information about what type of business they do.

Right so if what you say is true that means we can log on to the intranet using one of the residents user name and password. Just because we don't have our own account doesn't mean we can't access it!

Yea, Killalaz, that's right. Provided we can get an Aglaura resident to give us their username and password. Otherwise, we can only register as guest.

And even then the Aglaura IntraNet may not even be connected to the Marzent IntraNet. And if this is so, then we still want be able to get access to the Marzent IntraNet.

Personally, I don't think Marzent will combine it's private IntraNet with Aglaura's IntraNet but then I could be wrong.

Some of the pictures that had accompanying captions. I ran their names through an HR search and they all came back with the same information—working with me, in the same building as employees of the "Innovation Department".

Strange thing is, I've never heard of that. Neither has the Marzent floor plan I found on the network.

I'm not a superior hacker, but I knew I needed more info. I considered "steps" I might take to get access, but I also had a hunch that the new HR assistant, a pretty, young and fairly daffy girl named Yasmina would still have her password set as "SETPASS".

Good hunch.

Here's where things get really strange. I discovered each employee from the "Innovation Department" has the same social security number and an address right outside of Aglaura. I google mapped the address…it doesn't exist.

Who are these guys?

I think Bruce already did the hack. He figured out the access via Yasmina's account ("Good hunch") and he looked through the employees from the Innovation Department himself - finding out they are probably fake employees.....so sounds like there is some fraud going on.

He was also looking for more information about Don Marzano on the internet. If I had access to my email account tonight, I think I can help him out - but for some reason access to the server with gmail is not working for me.

Kona, I think this is the part everyone is talking about:
Quote:

Digging deeper, I tried different file extensions on our intranet…I found one suspicious area that greeted me with a restricted access message. The extension was "marzanoprivate". I can't figure out how to get in…it's driving me crazy. Good thing I have every Veronica Mars episode of DVR. I need to kick my sleuthing skills up to the next level.

Perhaps we should try and dig up something about the Veronica Mars episode of DVR or just wait for Bruce to tell us what he finds when and if he gets access.

I think "of" is a typo; I'm sure Bruce meant "on" DVR. DVR means a Digital Video Recorder, like TiVo.

Disclaimer: I have not seen every episode of Veronica Mars -- hell, I haven't seen most of 'em -- so for all I know there really is a relevant story arc about DVRs.

Your right ShadO. Bruce just updated his blog and corrected the typo.

We already have a username and password Yasmina and SETPASS. Does anyone have a URL to a login page for either Itranet? I am going to email bruce again and try and get some info from him.

Killalaz, when and IF we get access to Marzent's private IntraNet, Yasmina / SETPASS will get us no farther than Bruce has gotten.
I believe Bruce is working on this and will inform us of what he finds when he finds it as it seems that Bruce is becoming one of our important Allies.

You don't know that, we could see something he didn't or figure out how to get deeper access through "secret" files on the system.
