"A-fag"...

Perhaps the good people of PxC will now stop being so gorram complacent and actually do something constructive to help us find the cube?

While not entirely unexpected, you can't believe how upset I am to hear this news. It's bizarre - a lot of us actually watched while Miranda/Caroline died and weren't really affected that much, but Anna was a friend with which we have conversed. She had set us puzzles, she had replied to our emails, and still we had got her involved in this series of events that lead to her death.

We should have known what was coming though... the bunny staring into the headlights; the young soldier proudly displaying a picture of his sweetheart;

After the children were all asleep at night, Fleming and I snuggled up together to watch old vids, the way we used to when we were first married. Though I really didn't watch them very carefully. I felt Fleming's arm warm around me, and all I could do was ache for the time when that was all I ever needed to feel perfectly safe.

Sleep well Anna. We will avenge you

I'm not sure of the best way of doing this but maybe a VFE (View from earth) as a tribute to anna, anyone willing to get involved, it would be a group project obviously, lots of us each writing something small.

How about a virtual book of condolence somewhere (maybe here, or on the wiki), where people can add their name and a brief comment if they want? It could then be emailed to the CRT.

Fear not Anna, for you have not died in vain! We will find who did this, and they will pay. I feel so bad for her kids...

now for the chaos theories.. is she really dead or is it a front to get her out of the academy for a while? they couldn't possibly let Caine in on that..

Lhall and I actually discussed earlier creating a memorial site for Anna, and she offered to host it. We could create a page for submissions on the Wiki or make a thread here, and then send the lot (or just the link) to either PXC in general or the privileged members of the CRT (depending on how much we mention the larger circumstances of the murder).

My one reservation (as paranoid as it sounds) was that I wanted to hear from an additional source confirmation of Anna's death.

That aching and seemingly bottomless little hole which has appeared, unbidden in the depths of your stomach as you heard this news? That would be guilt.

Anna Heath was someone we met in the course of our investigations into the loss of the Receda Cube. She, by her own admission, wasn't "heroic", in fact, of all the contacts we have made in Perplex City, she was perhaps the most reserved. She threw her lot in with us, initially to right the injustice that she believed had occurred when her friend, Isaac Cymbalisty was murdered. Many of us offered her our condolences, and pledged our assistance - mainly because we needed her help, to enable us to further our own goals. As she became more embroiled in events, she was swept along, and now finally, away.

She, who had more to lose than anyone, risked everything, personally and professionally, because it was the right thing to do.

Even with her reservations, even with her commitments and responsibilities, she still continued upon her path, and fought against the injustice that she saw. Because sometimes, there are things which are too important to simply ignore.

Because it was the right thing to do.

Dylan Thomas wrote:
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Farewell Anna Heath, 232-269 AC. It was the right thing to do.

Jamie

This is awful. Truly horrible. I think a website/virtual book of condolence/email with our messages on is a good idea. Could send it to our CRT contacts, or to the Sentinel?

Poor Fleming. Poor children. RIP Anna.

Uhh...oops.

Well...at least we didn't tell her to go down there? Not that that makes things any less tragic.

I mean, there was always the possibility that she'd been killed, but I just assumed kidnapping would be the more probably option.
Uh.

Incidentally, I'd never noticed Caine didn't refer to Violet by name. O.o

i'm sure the sentinal will still balme it on us. stupid bias.

I am very suprised that the Sentinel hasn't got this story out yet, what with all the police presence and half the population of Perplex City turning up to look for Anna and finding her dead.

This sincerely bites. Anyone who comes close to turning the tables on the Third Power tends to get bumped off. Kurt has had a couple of near misses before the accident and this is going to mean that things and going to get worse.

RIP Anna Heath. Murders are never fair.

Wow, I feel like I've been puched in the gut.

<TIAG>This is my first ARG and I'm really surprised that they killed off such a major character! I know that sounds a bit stupid but this is my first ARG and I find myself constantly surprised, shocked, bemused and bamboozled by it. Which is a good thing. <TIAG>

Poor Fleming and the kids. As for Anna, it was the ultimate sacrifice and she might have thought that she had to follow something/someone into the tunnels to try to make her world a safe place for her children to grow up in. Perhaps dying for that reason the ultimate sacrifice or most loving gesture a mother can make for her children? Admittedly, that may not be much of a consoliation point for Fleming and the kids at the moment.

Juxta summed it up well for me

So.. From a TIAG perspective, does this mean no more cards from Anna next season?

No, because they have had all of this seasons cards done for a while and started working on season two cards already, so there might be cards from anna (although there might not, we don't know).
