 		[UPDATE] Journal July 19th putting the pieces together

As simple as the answer is, it took me quite a while to realize that he wasn't just talking about the physical items he was accumulating when he said, "the more I find."

I miss Wes. His smile, his wit, his fine-tuned bullshit meter that could pick out the truly weird and unusual from the "alien autopsy" kind of crap. I sure could use him now. He could help me make sense of this all, put the pieces together in a way that makes an actual picture rather than just a chaotic collage of meaningless fragments. He was also probably the only person I've ever known who I could honestly say I thought was happy. Not momentarily, not based on circumstance or condition, just truly and deeply happy with Life.

But he's not here, not any longer, and I've got to accept that. I can't change history, only learn from the knowledge it offers. If I'm smart enough to understand what it is teaching.

It's all about putting together the pieces. I once thought that meant I needed to find the one true combination and orientation of pieces that would show me THE picture, the secret meaning and answer I've been chasing, literally all my life. I've wasted most of my life searching for that one solution, that one image that at last made all the pieces and my life make sense.

I realize now that there is no one solution, no one answer that puts all the pieces in place for you and provides meaning to your life. All we have are the pieces, and they can be put together to make almost any picture we can imagine. Or deserve.

Someone has been trying to put the pieces together in a way that threatens everything I know and love. Not just in the case of these fires, and the way they've been arranged to point at me; that's just the latest and most obvious example. It's everything, going back to the dreams, the Chasing The Wish story, Hell, maybe even back to the time of Wes's death. Who knows? He sure seems to be wrapped up in all this, somehow. It's truly terrifying to think about how far back and how involved this is. There are even traces of this buried in that Incunabula stuff, in a way I'm not sure I understand yet.

Part of that realization is the understanding that I can put the pieces together too though, in a way that doesn't cause loss and pain, and the end of everything I care for. That's what Wes's life was all about when I think about it - putting together the pieces of the world in a way that made sense and satisfied him. So that's what I've begun to do.

Unfortunately it's taken me so long to see things clearly that I haven't much time any longer. It looks more and more likely every day that Dawn is going to have to arrest me for these fires, even though I know in her heart she believes I didn't set them. I skipped the Council meeting last night but I'd bet the topic of my possible involvement came up. That's something else I need to deal with, one of the pieces that must be put into place.

On top of that, whoever is responsible for all of this - the fires, framing me, and much more I fear - is getting either bolder or more desperate all the time. Time must be a factor for them as well, though why remains a gnawing question.

The pieces - the more I look, the more I find. I think I'm beginning to see the patterns and understand. Just maybe. I don't want to post anymore here now, though. If I have your address, watch for an email later tonight.

It's a thankless task for the most part, but i'm sure I can speak for others when I say it's looking good, I don't wanna patronise you too much tho' heh Smile But it is cool that someone is working on the permanent archive as the game progresses.
Perhaps you could PM MageSteff if you haven't already pagra, she was looking for people to work with to catch up originally.

 		Did anyone get the email yet? I guess he lied.... Or something prevented him from emailing us? I dunno it has been a while since I have heard from any of my regular in game contacts and im starting to get bored worried. hehe

You still didn't get an email? He sent them out yesterday I was just joking because he said in his journal he was mailing them out and then he didn't do it for a few hours.

Example one starts with the images I've posted below, one sent to me by one of the readers of my comic book, and the other I found on the CD stashed in the box of Wes's belongings. The document it is from was published in the mid 1980's.

It may not be immediately obvious to anyone who doesn't know the area, but the circle on the right is around basically the same area shown by the circle on the Aglaura map to the left. It's almost centered on the same spot, just a bigger version of the circle someone's drawn over the town. Which, it finally dawned on me, may be just what whoever made the combined 307 / map image was hinting at, with the second black dot outside the main 307 circle. If you look at those two things and imagine a second 307 ring around the first one on the Aglaura map, and then the circle on the map on the right, it almost looks like rings of a wave in a pond, after someone tossed a stone into it.

I've also recently found out through some confidential sources that the same person who supposedly drew the 307 symbol shown above may have used it to find six very important items in the woods around Aglaura - Sarah's missing masks. Coincidentally, he's also the same person that police are looking to talk to about a missing person case the Aglaura police are currently investigating. His name is Keith, and just as I was putting all these pieces together, with the help of some online friends, he emailed me, saying he wants to talk to me. So many threads all leading to and making up the same tapestry, it seems.

Without the emails from a few people though, I probably would have noticed this connection. Here's another example for you, of how things are finally starting to fall into a pattern that makes sense to me. Another fan of my comic book pointed out to me that the whole Incunabula CD tells the story of a man who begins by thinking he is reading a work of fiction, a collection of old tales and legends. Along the way though, he begins to understand that everything is frighteningly real, even the writings he has making about the whole thing, thinking he was just writing a story. Sound familiar?

As I start documenting the story, in the form of a comic book, the same events or slight variations of them begin actually occurring all around me. The fiction becomes real, or is it really me, turning fact into fiction?

The 307 symbol from my dreams begins pulling others into my fantasy, or is it my reality? The symbol seems to overlay both the consciousness and physical presence of everyone it touches. Back in the story, the symbol leads my old friends Wes Keeler and Sam Greene into the mystery, along with a psychic investigator, Iris Page. In my real life, Wes reaches out from beyond the grave with a CD he has left for me to find in his old belongings, which have sat undisturbed for years. Only the recent move of Iris Page into his old building brings them to my attention, and leads me begin researching the Incunabula materials from two decades ago.

Connections. The CD contains many, many things that either are strangely similar to what I am going through or begin to fill in pieces I am missing. One of those items is a comic book.

Connections. Ongs Hat. Aglaura. They're one and the same. Twenty years ago, this man was questioning the reality of the stories associated with the area that he'd uncovered, and how they led him to even deeper and stranger truths.

Connections. A story that seems to have manifested itself in my consciousness, and that leaves me and everyone around me wondering just what is real, and what is madness.

Connections. A story that leaves everyone involved in it wondering, "What is real?" People, places, events, history. All connected. These materials have led me to make contact with two very important people in the last few days and I am supposed to be talking to them both more very soon, maybe even tonight. One can help me understand the current manifestation of the 307 symbol, and how he is connected to everything. He actually contacted me, because of the comic book I have created and what has been happening ever since. But he's someone I've been wanting to talk to for some time now, anyway.

The other person I hope can help me understand the past and what this all means in relation to what he has been through. It took me quite a while to track him down, but I've found the man in the comic book above, from the Incunabula materials. The man who dealt with this all, twenty years ago. Connections.

 		Kona, do you have the Incunabula stuff? If you do, you can find those images on pages 138 - 142. If not and you want and if it's permitted I can upload them here for everyone to see.

I think the guy saying "yes" is Emory Cranston. Don't know if he has six fingers or not but he sure has long finger nails.

Others who have read the Incunabula stuff better may have more of a handle on this than I.
Even though I suggested everyone to download it, I've only glanced through it and haven't really read it close yet.

 		Ok first things first, has anyone tried using the word "connections" with anything? Like URL extensions or anything? It just seemed to stand out to me. Second, I don't wanna burst dale's bubble or anything but when the guy says "I've covered your six..." I am pretty sure he meant "I've covered you back" or "I have looked out for you" and was not talking about six fingers. masks or anything else, but what do I know.

That's what I thought about the word "connections," too.

"I've covered your six..." is not an idiom I've ever heard. I'd venture to guess it does have something to do with one of our numerous sixes. Which one I don't know though.
