She probably whispers the meaning of the symbol or something, which could explain why the customer would leave with a knowing smile. That's the only thing I can think.

okay firstly I noticed article"S" of Faith

2nd what does she whisper in the ear? maybe the meanings?
& it also says she isn't covered in tattoos herself.. does this mean at all? or none of her own works only.
3She makes a large point that faith has to interview you first. Faith also say's this in her blog.
4"they come to me like it's their choice, they just can't put it in words" I believe she means the client's words. that's why she has to interview them.

Does this mean the front room is her lair?

And the dark, the fiery, the fanged, SOunds like a dragon to me.

The article states that Faith does more than just your average, typical tattoos of things "dark, fiery, and fanged". I don't know whether that's a clue or not, but I doubt it would be related to Faith considering it says she doesn't just do typical designs.

1: 'Articles of faith' is just a reference for these: a list of tenets of a belief. This may be looking into, but I dont think it means there were more than one newspaper article. (I looked for scan002.jpg and scan003.jpg, nothing was there)

2: What she whispered is probably going to be important, but I believe the article just meant that she didnt have any tattoos visible. (She was probably wearing the same long sleeves she always is)

3 & 4: She interviews you and somehow uses that to determine what tattoo she is going to give you. Thats what she's talking about with "they come to me like it's their choice, they just can't put it in words." 'They' being the idea for the tattoo. Its saying she knows what the client wants even if they dont.

5, 6, & 7: Looks good to me. Vix is first chair, her parlor is in the front. Faith's parlor is downstairs in the back since she's second chair. It does sound rather ominous that you're led downstairs and through a narrow hall to a dim room to get to her. That might be embellishment on the author's part though, since in the video the room seems plenty bright, and she DID say that was 'her little corner.'

8: As for the last, if you reread the last paragraph, it says Faith's work is the opposite of the dark fanged gloom and doom you usually see.
