It BORDERS on the ridiculous Has anyone (outside of London) managed to get any Wave 4 cards from Borders?
I visited Teesside Borders last week (yes up in t'grim North), and after they finally worked out what I was talking about, they said that they could not guarantee that they would have the cards in on Monday.
True to their word, they didn't. They haven't even got them in today. Today is Tuesday. Luckily my Firebox Plan B worked out ok.
They also said that I could not reserve any cards for when they did come in, since they are not books (no, they're cards) and they are considered a "sideline".
I have emailed Borders Customer Service. They don't seem to appreciate how important it is that we solve the cards, find the cube and save the planet.
Anyone else had similar problems?

I also visited Teesside Park Borders on Sunday and found them spectacularly unhelpful.
Fortunately I went to the launch event yesterday so bought loads there.

Yes you did, and were you not the luckiest one at the entire launch?!
I have a big gripe with Borders, the London store refused to sell any cards before the 7.30 launch, even though I *specifically* emailed MC about this and they assured me that stores were selling the cards from their usual opening hours.
It seems as if MC could do with a bit of a firmer hand on the launch, with regard to the stores anyway. Forbidden Planet hadn't a single W4 pack on display either.

if it's any consolation, i rang travelling man, and they told me they had pure wave 4 packs. bought a load and they were mixed is there any way to tell from the pack, if they're pure, or not?
on the flip side, firebox sent me 4 pure packs on friday, which arrived saturday. but i've solved all but 4 of them (3 purple, one black)
no duplicates, but no silvers, either
ah well, should have a booster box arriving tomorrow.

I agree MC could have handled distribution a bit better. I had a pretty fruitless 90 minute trek around central London on Monday lunchtime. Borders: no, Forbidden Planet: didn't know Wave 4 was out "might be in later this week. Or this afternoon", and Playlounge: "yes, they're out today. Don't know when we'll get any".
Forced me to go to the launch in the end and then spend today with an aching head and no sleep. Damn you, Mind Candy!

Oh I don't know, sounds like it's an issue with the shops rather than Mind Candy.

um, because the two companies are not only practically owned/run by the same people, but they also share office buildings, namely Firebox House?
i agree with chris, sounds like the shops are being a bit clueless about the whole thing, and its not like MC haven't got enough on their hands at the moment to go round trying to hand distribute things.
eta: this could probably do with going in the main meta board?
rach =)

Ah well, at least Borders rang me yesterday to say that ... the cards still have not arrived.
I have not received a reply to my email complaint to central office...
This problem seems to be to do with the distribution network used by Borders. The staff told me they are "at the mercy of their suppliers" (scary mental picture of black-leather-clad lorry drivers wielding large kitchen knives...)

The pure wave 4 packs have a purplish tint to the silver foil whereas the mixed ones are normal silver.
Both have the same "lost the cube reward..." post-it note type thing on them.
Unfortunately I can only tell the difference when they are side by side in good light, which may not be the case in a shop - particularly if they only have one type.

Can't get that image out of my head now.

Still no luck at Borders Teesside. They are all very apologetic and know who I am (even though this was only my second visit in person). Someone is checking every morning. Blumin leather-clad lorry drivers fault I say...
