[Update] www.perplexcity.com Launch Partying & Cube Hunt

Quote:

Launch Partying & Cube Hunting
1st August 2006

Thanks to everyone who came along to our Launch Party yesterday - it was great to meet you all, and we hope it was as fun for you as it was for us. Congratulations are in order for Team Renaissance, who won our head-to-head puzzle competitionn, and also to SteveC who was drawn as the winner of our poster competition. Thanks also to Chris for arranging the lovely after-party at 6 Degrees, where rumours suggest that the celebrations continued into the wee small hours.

If you've got photos of the event, go ahead and upload them to Flickr - tag 'em "perplexcity" and "wave4launch", and add them to our special group for the world to see! Even if you didn't take photos, you can leave comments and add annotations to help people put names to faces.

Finally, as part of our Wave 4 Launch, we've created a new page providing instructions on how you should proceed if you've found the Cube, which is good news for all those optimists who've written in asking about it! Also, we've made a few updates to our Terms & Conditions.

Link to the new page is:

http://www.perplexcity.com/thecube/index.qbuild

and is clickable via the cube at the top of the page.

yeah, i'm extremely curious as to whats going to happen in season two, maybe something from earth getting stolen and ending up in perplex city? although i think its horrible timing infering that things are goign to start wrapping up with the second connection only nine days away,

Based on Andrea's kidnapping comments, whoever wins season one will get £100,000 in the bank, but sadly spend the following year in a dank oubliette hollowed out of the lower reaches of a tidal cave existing only on sea slaters and that they farm in the corners (anyone read Gould's book of Fish?). We have to find them and the combination for the lock before they expire from boredom or barnacle infestation of the inner thigh. Instead of leitmarks, we'll periodically be sent non-critical body-parts (fingers, toes, frontal-cortex). They might have to think carefully if it's Ollie though, he might be able to construct a coracle from a large pea-green cravat, water-proofed with earwax and sail out on a spring tide in a perverse aping of the owl and the pussycat.

Sorry, still metabolizing the alcohol from Monday night (until Saturday at some point I think). Usefully I am also immune to malaria from the sheer quantity of tonic consumed.

Hmm... not a condition that you'll find in the Oxford Textbook of Medicine.
