Well in that case I am a bit confused.

Find attached a word file detailing how I did it in that number. I have tested this manually and on the flash version and I think it works.

I would be interested in your opinion - have I somehow (stupidly) broken the rules?

Cabbage Crying or Very sad

Edit: And I have just done a more "conservative" version, always staying one square away from a turning guard so that you DEFINITELY could not be seen, and this only adds one second to the solve, and takes me back to the original answer that I put in on Monday! Right off to bed to have a little think about it...

Holy Censored bertyb. I thought you just trolled the forums for answers. Sorry for ever doubting your solving abilities. Way to go. I haven't looked at this one yet, but seeing that it's been a few days and you have the only solve, it must have been a right good one. Congrats.

Cheers......I think!?!?!?!

I prefer puzzle cards like this, things like this and Cast Adrift 2 I can honestly say that I worked through without cheating on the forums......obviously some cards need a joint effort for the solve, there are the cards that once the main puzzle has been indentified on the forum then it makes it a lot easier and there are a few cards that purely do not interest me....I am a puzzler, so this was something I was going to solve....as is the black Huey card.....9 failed attempts on that in the last 3 days....but I will get there.....obviously I wont be the first on that though.

I seem to agree with cabbage here.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I might be wrong but surely the quickest route is going to invole turning the final corner just before the blue guard sees you, having already pressed all the switches (252/3 seconds) unless getting there is impossible in that time (not 284, tried that + now locked out)

Austin.

Sorry, I said I was going to bed but I have not been able to wrench myself away yet.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I have now rejigged my solution to be ultra-conservative (i.e. keeping distance from turning guards). Most of the time can be made up by waiting less at the waiting points, so it only ends up one second longer. I have tried all the numbers around the two answers on Monday and Tuesday. Since then I have been thinking there must be an even better solution than that (but to no avail).

254 or 253 if it only takes one second not two to go through the door)

Couple of questions:

Do you go up to the switch, or just stay on the main path to press it?

Is it OK, say at the beginning to go up one, then when the guard is one away from your vertical line, go up another one?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I, too, have been getting a time of 254 (or 253 if I push it), I take the same root as you but at around 100 seconds I continue pass the button to the top right path, where no guards patrol.

Once the Green guard has passed I follow it back and press the button on it's patrol, then come back, wait for the yellow to pass and press the button near by.

Wait for the Green to pass again and walk around onto the blue root, following it round to press the two buttons and out the door.

With this path I can't see at any point at which you break the rules and you are never seen by guards. Unless you can do it faster, I have to agree with Cabbage's time of 254 seconds

Not sure where your 28 seconds is coming from?

PS I have shaved an entire second off my previous best score by not pressing one of the switches the first time I got near it, and pressing it the second time I went past it instead. But this was not accepted as the answer either...

I haven't added them together. I suspect I'm wrong though, based on the workings of everyone else. =/ I can't work it out..may go down your corkboard route. Fancy putting up a scan of your map you used? ;D

I discovered this alternative route the other day when I was convinced that there must be a quicker route and I was trying various different ways - funny that it works out exactly the same. I prefer my route for its downright skulking sneakiness, going to and fro as the guards troll by.

Also I pm'ed arnezami early on Wednesday to say that I had put

254

in as the answer and it was rejected, and also that I thought it was a bit dubious
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
since it is the number of the card

I have emailed mind candy this morning for their views but on arrival back from a lovely day out at Big Sheep Little Cow farm with me kids and me Mrs (Perplex City widow), no word from MC as yet...

That was a bit risky, wasn't it - you might have been eaten.
