Coded phone call (Justice Forsaken)

Vonage I am glad for since it lets me save voicemails as wave files. This one had a most certainly false return of 777-777-7777. Voicemail had a bunch of letters.

Anyhoo, here is the link to it in my werbspace...
http://www.nightmarepark.com/index1.php?dir=Music/&file=Coded%20Voicemail.wav

I must be turning into the next HKDL here.
And no, didnt play the last game someone threw me the rabbit hole, was too busy with a movie soundtrack (Horrorween). so how did that game turn out?

Looks like another one here.

EDIT: Looks like a live one. I threw in the name of the blog it leads to. Will change the name if something else crops up

the letters I heard are:
Code:
NLXGLKHTLOYVILLKG

but the last letter could have been a fast "HE" instead of "G", it was hard for me to distinguish.

It's a code:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Whatever it's called when A=Z, B=Y, etc. makes MOCTOPSGOLBROOP(T/VS). Reversing you get svpoor.blogspot.com or tpoor.blogspot.com.
Neither works, unfortunately. Maybe there was something more that got cut off?

Edit: Silly me. I missed a letter. So
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
it's tpoore.blogspot.com, which looks appropriately suspicious, talking about secret pasts, e-mails from unknown senders, and new lifes.

Just to be thorough:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
That type of cipher is called an Atbash Cipher

Of course, my only question is, why does the first site always have to be a blog? Why can't it be something big and bold and require me to spend hours going through every little detail to make sure I didnt miss something rather than just reading some random guy's diary?

I'm cool with a blog as long as it's well-written.

This one is well-written, so I'll monitor it for some action for a bit.

Oh, and a big "WHAT'S UP D00D!" to Tony!

Hmm...why do I get the feeling this is about more than Travis/Burton infringing on some criminal activities? It could all be bad guys blowing smoke up his keister, and it probably is, but something about the way this guy phrases things makes me think he's the type of guy that would, with the best of intentions at heart, accidentally blunder into some reeeeeal bad stuff.

hey Max, been a while. I only glanced at the blog, who knows how deep the game goes? The project these days is Horrorween, a Hollywood movie. will only dip in here and there into the game. I just want to know who the @^%#@@ got my #, it isnt so public, and the only people from here who know it are either close friends or several pms. Time to traipse behind the curtain on a quest for "who did this to me? And why?" kind of thing Smile

For once, I like the way this blog is done. Plus, it has a semi-plausible explanation for it's existence. Has anyone talked to our would-be detective on AIM yet?

New entry in his blog. He got an AIM name. I just sent an IM, so hopefully he'll respond before I have to go help mom with some car stuff. If I do have a conversation with him, I'll edit it into this post.

EDIT: Okay, had a brief conversation with him. Here it is:

Quote:
SamRey56: Hello, Mr. Poore. I recently came across your blog. I would like to know if there is anything I can do to help you find out who this "Synthesis" individual is?
SamRey56: My name is Esteed on blogspot, and I would like to help if at all possible.
LawForsaken is away at 12:06:37 PM.
LawForsaken returned at 12:06:40 PM.
LawForsaken: I do not know who they are.
LawForsaken: They're after me though.
LawForsaken: it's been calm for a while, I have not heard from them.
SamRey56: That could be a good or bad sign. Perhaps they're letting up, or it could just be the calm before the storm.
LawForsaken: That is true.
LawForsaken: Wait one minuite.
LawForsaken: Why are you so interested in helping me?
LawForsaken: Who are you?
SamRey56: I've read your previous entries and you seem like a good person. A good person who suffered needlessly in the past and now needs a bit of help. That's all.
LawForsaken: I'm sorry if I seem jumpy. I have reason to.
SamRey56: It's no problem. In your situation, I would be jumpy as well.
LawForsaken: Hold on, my phone is ringing.
SamRey56: Okay.
LawForsaken: Who are these guys?
LawForsaken: I got a phone call, They said that they knew where I was, and they were watching me, and that I had help?
LawForsaken: Are you the help?
SamRey56: I want to help if I can, yes. There are others that would want to help, as well.
LawForsaken: Who are these other people? I guess I would have to meet them if they are to help me.
SamRey56: I'm fairly new to the community I speak of, so I can't give AIM screen names for them, but I can vouch for their character and sense of justice. These synthesis people obviously mean harm, so they must be stopped.
LawForsaken: That they must, I'm glad to see that I am not the only one with a sense of urgency. I'm sure if you read my blog you would know what i was talking about.
LawForsaken: I*
LawForsaken: Sorry.
SamRey56: No problem. And yes, I know exactly what you mean. You've already been through enough, I would like to help spare you whatever ill this synthesis group is planning.
LawForsaken: As of now, I don't know anything about them. I don't know who they are, why they want me, and what they have planned.
LawForsaken: I do however know that they are watching me.
SamRey56: Right. They claim that they have no problem with your work towards catching criminals, but I doubt that's the case. Perhaps you know something they don't want you to?
LawForsaken: At this point, I don't know that either.
LawForsaken: I must go.
SamRey56: Ok. I'll continue to try and solve this mystery. Good luck, and be safe.
LawForsaken: Thank you for the help.
LawForsaken: It means alot.
LawForsaken signed off at 12:18:42 PM.

Alrighty, there was the "let's see if anyone cares" chat.

Now we should start seeing some movement.

Ignore me

This is the earliest I've been able to get into any ARG that seemed interesting. I always seem to catch them when they're half over. I'm just getting on the list for replies and hoping that the lack of updates since the AIM chat doesn't mean that this is over.

I'm in!

Hello, jenni42ld checking in! I've been looking for a new game to play for awhile, and this one grabbed me. I added Lawforsaken to my buddylist, but he doesn't appear to be on right now. Here's hoping! Did some random googling, nothing turning up - don't really have enough info, but it was worth a try. If I see him online, I plan on asking for what current activities he is involved in, see if we can narrow down which ones led to this whole thing.

I'm getting into ARG games for the first time and since this is brand new, it seems like the perfect place to start. You can count me in on this one, I'll be sure to watch for LawForsaken online.

Speaking about this, if this is really an ARG, we should at least have a name to refer to it. I vouch for The-Law-Forsaken, as that's the name of the blog.

Not sure on a name, heh. I've just been using Synthesis to refer to it in my own head. The Law Forsaken works as well, or perhaps Justice Forsaken or something.

Anybody else think that his little signature on the most recent blog entry (the one with the AIM sn) is a clue? "Steer clear of the law." Had he included signatures or quotes or whatever at the end of his other blogs, I'd think nothing of it, but perhaps it's a clue of some kind?

Well, since WIBS I haven't seen anything that has held my attention for more than a couple of days... This looks intriguing. Lemme ask though, I'm not familiar w/ blogspot and it's workings - is it normal for some entries to be able to comment on and others not?
