Yeah, I was thinking of the enigma machine also. And the style2.css clue that joeschmoe posted sounds very much like the rotor setting for the enigma. However, as hangman pointed out, there are other settings for the enigma that we would need to know. Which rotors to use, in which order, and also which reflector disk to use. I have been playing around with one (okay, with all ) of the enigma simulators I have found, but don't have anything good yet.

While looking through persistent I noticed a few words in the box. "It is the astounding grid trap" Not sure if that helps at all.

i did a probable word attack. it's one of the ways of cracking a vigenere. in a nutshell, you guess words which may be in the decode and work backwards to the keyword. you'll have to look it up yourself though, since i learned it a long time ago and don't have any links

Well, I found out more about the fellows from last friday that were talking with my boss: they came back again today. I didn't overhear much, but they said something about "lambda"... greek letters? Doesn't make much sense. They definitely weren't from the credit card company though.
I don't know... there was a really creepy quality to them. Something I can't put my finger on.
