I've been requested to hint, but the ones above seem quite reasonable. In an attempt to be as obscure as ever, I'll offer this piece though:

Fans of Brazil might have a slight advantage...

Does it have anything to do with the Brothers Grimm?

I took a shot in the dark, based on the number of letters and Von's clue... It is *not* Brothers Grimm.

I hope so, that's the path of bread-crumbs I'm currently following, although it may end up to be a wild golden-egg layer chase.

I've tried counting letters and words and cannot get any sense.

I meant the 'Brothers Grimm' isn't the answer... It's cool that they have something to do with it, though. I think I've found the method (the first 8 letters are too good to be coincidendal), but the rest of the list I'm looking at, seems to be out of order... ? So close...

Finally! I would have got this a little quicker if I had been working in English instead of German. Fortunately I told my colleague what I was doing and she did the same in English and got the answer.

woo! top 11. ah well.

As noted above, none of the words on this card (or any other card) matter. But the context of the card and von's hint may send you to another place where the numbers will work for you. And which might even be conveniently numbered for you already.

ARGH! there could be something really simple that I am missing (numbers confuse me) but the more clues and routes I follow the more lost I become...

ARRRGH! ARRRGH! ARRRGH! ARRRGH! ARRRGH!
I have finally worked this out, solved the code, and it turns out to be THE FIRST FECKING THING I THOUGHT OF. I didnt put that in the solve box (never a good idea to assume) because I thought I was looking for a 13-letter word.
ARRRGH! Now I'm locked til tomorrow. *swears profusely*
A very annoyed Dom.

domroberts, I know how you feel. I've had the answer since this morning but can't put it in for another hour or so because I wasted all my attempts yesterday.
And while I'm here, might as well add a hint to the growing list of them...

Hmm. am staring at this one now.

The numbers in order are 810127184181392248597782629
I've got no idea what to do with them though. The hints about dark sides of fairy tales don't help me..cos the original versions I prefer are all dark/bloody/involve murder somewhere. =/
