If the solve page just says "What is the answer?" then possibly it's not the name of the man we're after - particularly since we've been given half of his name already.

Perhaps what we have to do is track him down and actually ask him what the answer is?

I'd be rather annoyed if he said "42".

Why '42' dom? I would go crazy if he said all we had to do is enter Mind Candys Head office

All players going to the San Fransico Event keep your eyes peeled for this Guy.

I'd say that if after much deep though, the answer were indeed 42, someone would have to be lynched. Wink
It wouldn't be the answer to everything though...

Does that mean we enter "Mind Candys Head office" on the solve page then?

I've made a start on a website to help with this card, but I need some help in doing some decent translations to as many other languages as possible.

http://www.billion2one.org/ (might not work yet - DNS is still propagating)

The language names list is a starter for 10 (well 6) - there are zero translations in place at the moment, plus other languages like Japanese, Korean, traditional and simplified chinese, etc. will probably be useful.

All tips received will of course go straight into this thread for discussion.

"Lets do this!" Twisted Evil

Edit: you can also download the language-specific files to translate at http://www.billion2one.org/translate.zip

Edit again: I've removed the list of strings from this post as it was tough to keep updated - best thing to do is download the zip file which I'll keep upto date.

Wow!

Worshippy Worshippy Fantastic webpage, well done! Worshippy Worshippy

Thank you for being so motivated! I might be able to help with the Spanish translation if you can't find anyone else, but I think that someone else would make a better job of it - and we want it to sound as professional as possible!

Do you think it would be a good idea to send an email off of the site to Mind Candy? Laughing Laughing

Hmm... nice website. I like it. However. We could be going off on completely the wrong thread here. Maybe it's not just finding this guy. Maybe there's something hidden. Anyone check the card for secret text, odd ink, microscopic things?

Excellent website. I'll have a go at translating into Mandarin, but will have to be in a few days time as all my Chinese language stuff is in work.

I've asked my sister to see if any of her friends can help with translations. I'll let you know if they come up with anything.

In the meantime, and I know it's a long shot, but I don't suppose anyone has any contacts with the Japanese (or international) press or anything, as a way of publicising the search?

It's a great site (sight?) and all, but wouldn't it help if you put a contact and something about his name on there?

Natch - have been all over this for secrit spy stuff. Nothing out of the ordinary gathered except the out of place silver line across the card just above the mountains. Other silver cards have errant lines that I blame on manufacturing (they're never in the same place).

BTW - I wonder if we really need to find this fellow or just identify where the picture was taken. That seems more likely to me. I also wonder about the title as it seems to suggest we are looking for a Chinese person/place, not a Japanese. Anyone recongnize the "architecture", the building style? And is that a stream or a road? I thought it was water but can't figure out where it goes (behind the guy - the buildings seem to be in the way of a river, or my perspective perception sucks). The edges look awfully clean for a river.

Besides that (which is a good idea), maybe you could put a "What we Know" section or something with information we.. uh... know:
-His name
-His Japanese decent (we know it, but others may not be as good at telling the difference between Japanese and Chinese)
-We know the picture was taken within the past couple of years (due the the digital camera fact posted a litte ways beack)

... I can't actually think of anything else, but I'd assume that would help narrow it down a little bit.
