this has totally baffled me. I have put my lego to yet more good use (3 times in a week after about 20 years in my moms attic!) and have found the same as cabbage!

Is there an email address for Garnet - to ask him directly about the puzzle? Can't find one myself...

If the attached route (based on arnezami's start and Cabbage's finish) doesn't break any rules, it is 32 second faster than Cabbage's current one. Let me know what is wrong with it, please.

I have tried out this route and some of its variations (many times) and submitted possible answers of 218 and 223 based on very similar routes even though I knew they weren't right since you get "clipped" by the torches at some point. (See below).

Of course I am not discounting the possibility of a quicker route, just saying that I have not found it in my recent extensive research over the last six days (get up, test Escape route, eat, wash up, test Escape route, eat, wash up, sleep, get up, test Escape route etc you get the idea)...

Foily!

One day I'll get around to fixing that so the vision fields are more accurate. Remember, they see straight rather than in that triangle shape.

I've been working on the presumption that they can see anything in front of them that is within their length of vision.

If it is only that they see you becuase they shine their torches on you directly then it changes the playing field immensely.

I still think that the number is higher up in the scheme, not neccessarily a lower one.

How do you define this? Do you mean line of sight?

I had interpreted the torches as representative of their field of vision... grey has a super duper torch and the others seem to have standard issue.

Alright, alright, I guess I should give some sort of hint to this by now.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Someone in here came very close. Turns out you need to be on the door, rather than past it, to finish.

I see there's already a simulator posted, but I thought I might as well add my own one - it's in excel, and includes auto-button and keeps a list of your moves for your reference. Hope someone finds it of use - still haven't found the answer!

Also, I repeatedly come up with 254 seconds as well!

See the attached zip file (Updated - version 2 - updated button press - you don't have to be 'on' the button to press it)

Thanks for letting me know - this was due to Unfiction renaming the file I uploaded.

I've replaced it with a zip file, which is now available.
