From PFF:

Quote:
It was my boarder after all
August 01, 2006 at 12:33 PM

Jack was never an antiques dealer. He just wanted ES Wylie's treasure. Thank you everyone who helped Anton. He gave the sheriff enough information to send him to jail we think.

But the treasure isn't even the most important thing that happened here. Jack's threats and attacks forced my spiritual advisors to show their true colors, and I don't think most of them would have been good to help people find their perfect friends. They were full of pain from the things that had happened in their lives. Most of the spiritual advisors are leaving, at least for a while, to find themselves in death in ways that they never did in life. Some are staying, but not enough to start PFF as a full site right now.

Does this mean that PFF is dead and gone? No! Emerson is staying. Stanley is staying in town and will help out. I need to find some more spirits and really get to know what their lives were like. I had neglected to do that before. Once we find some really helpful spirits, or some of my current advisors return, perhaps PFF will return better than ever!

There are some new messages from the spirits, i only have them from the spirits i have 100% with.

Mr. Emerson
Quote:
It was Jack after all, and not one of us dead men or women. My accusations were wrong, and I suppose that I owe some people some apologies. But they're not going to get them. I came back to make the world better than how I left it. I can't say the same for the rest of them.

It seems that Zanzibar has been having second thoughts about this whole thing after the pain and the secretive ghosts. I don't blame her, but I will stay here at the Wylie house, and I will do what I can to help, and that's that. If Zanzibar starts up Perfect Friends Forever again, I will be here.

Stanley
Quote:
Thank you for not turning me in to Madame Z. She knows who I am now, of course. How could she not know, after I saved her from that jerk Jack. She was hurt that I tricked her... but she doesn't hate me. We're friends now, believe it or not. She likes me, even though I'm not a spirit. Imagine that. Of course, now I have some stories of my own to tell... like the time I pretended to be a spirit to trap a treasure hunter!

Samuel
Quote:
One treasure hunter has been thwarted, and no one has been harmed but ES Wylie's treasure is still out there, and the world will soon realize this. My vigil can not end. I must try to protect my city. I will remain in the Wylie house and do my best to make up for my one disastrous failure. If only there were someone to take up this burden from me.

Hmm, Samuel's quote makes me think that this all really isn't over - maybe we could suggest that he pass on the torch to Emerson or Stanley?

From Anton's notes:

Quote:
A few of my favorite things:

A beautiful woman smiling at me from across a crowded room.
The sound of glass clinking together and, even better, the sound of bourbon being poured.
The feel of putting some well-earned scratch in my pocket.

But the best is the sound of handcuffs closing around a perp's wrists.

Fellah named Tesseract gave me most of the final pieces of the puzzle. He told me to show the broken plates to Sarah and she IDed them as the plates that Jack had bought earlier the day of the threat. As near as we can figure, Jack bought the plates and then wiped his fingerprints off before putting them in a bag. Then, Jack walked around the back of the house and came in through the rear, where Z couldn't see. That way, Jack could set up the threat at his leisure. Once that was done, he crept into the front room and smashed the plates. Before Z could get inside, Jack ran out the back again and apparently waited for a while before returning around the front to make it look like he'd just arrived.

That was enough for the Sherriff to charge that no-good palooka. I made sure I was there to see him charged and hauled off to a cell. It was like a ray of sunshine in my heart to see him get his.

Not that everything was wine and roses here. Jack yelled at me while the Sheriff was hauling him off. "You haven't seen the last of me, Anton Jeffries! You've caught me, but you have no idea where the treasure really is, do you? I'll get out of jail long before you find it. I'll come back, and it will be mine, all mine!"

I've never understood why men like him don't get the phrase, "anything you say can be used against you in a court of law."

That just gave him a few more years in the slammer. Still, it does bother me that Wylie's treasure is still out there somewhere. I doubt Jack is the last treasure hunter to visit Bay Horse... Madame Z's life isn't likely going to be a peaceful one, but I did all that I could. I got paid and my work is done. If she needs my help in the future, she has my phone number. If she's lucky, she'll never need it. Unfortunately, it looks like most of her ghosts are leaving her house now. I hope she has better luck with the next batch.

Thank you to my deputies that helped me with this case. I couldn't have done it without you.

Jasmine and the Dutchess are leaving:

Quote:
My connections with the land of the living have opened my eyes to my own misery. I lusted after money and attention, but was it making me happy? No, it made me nothing but miserable and I took it out on everyone here. I might be dead, but I am not gone. Perhaps there is still time to find myself out in the world, darling. I believe I will do some traveling. The Duchess feels a similar need to see the world and find herself. I will travel with her, if she will let me after those nasty things I said about her. Perhaps we will help each other find ourselves.

And Nickolas is leaving too:

Quote:
You have heard me expound on the virtue of loyalty these past few weeks. I was not lying: loyalty is an indispensable quality that makes the world go around. However, I have not been truthful as to why I have talked about loyalty to the exclusion of all else. It was the guilt I felt about marrying another woman after my wife died. I was punishing myself for not being loyal to the woman that was a partner in any good thing I ever did with my life. Jasmine and I are going to go our separate ways and I think we'll be happier for it.

I believe I will say farewell to Madame Z, and go to the deeper worlds beyond the veil. Perhaps I can find my dear Daisy out there somewhere.

Here's Lahmina's last comment:

Quote:
I came to the Wylie house to recapture my brief shining moment in the spotlight. I thought it would be glorious but instead it was a lot of lying, and I felt bad about myself the whole time. I spent my entire living life thinking "this isn't me, this isn't me, this isn't how my life is supposed to be." I loathed every moment, even though I put on a smiling face for the world.

But all the time I connected to people at the Wylie house I found myself thinking "That wasn't my life. That wasn't really my life" and I knew you would hate me if you found out the truth. I think it is time to try and find another sort of existence. I will pull off my veils, and I will find out what kind of person is underneath! I will travel with Jasmine... in the end, we do have quite a bit in common. Maybe we will find ourselves out in the wider world.

Thank you so much for helping me discover that I am more important than my veils.

Oh, and whoever first solves Wylie's Will and tells us where the treasure is buried (or at least how to find it) will also get a little something!

Anyone made any progress on this while I was away?

Nope...I re-drew my lines and am still coming up with junk. Now my will is almost illegible and it's impossible to erase all of the marks I have put on it. I'm going to try and look at the clean one Varin posted a whilw back...but it looks as though I won't be the one that gets the prize. Crying or Very sad
