Probably not Travis, considering what he said about rethinking his loyalties, but possibly our good ol' friends Synthesis. If that does happen, I think it'll be an...interesting discussion.

I'll see what i can figure out with the code (probably nothing Razz)...

True, he definitely got spooked... I wouldn't mind ol' Synth hopping on, maybe I can get more out of them than "We know" Cool

Heh, true enough, though they'll likely be slippier than Travis when it comes to answers.

Just some quick thoughts as I try the code:

'S1547NY5' reversed is 5YN745IS, which (in that form) should be more quickly recognized as a "leet" version of 'Synthesis'.

As to the code: it's not ROT, it's not Playfair (the three b's in the first row give that away) ... the fact that it's letters AND numbers is really interesting. Either the '12', the '2', and the '1' aren't translated, or they're the key to breaking the code.

(Editing this post as I go ...)

EDIT: I feel kinda confident that it's another of what I, in my infinite newbie-ness, call 'double-cyphers', where a pair of letters subs for a singular letter. There's a preponderance of letter pairs that repeat; 'mg', for instance, and also 'si' and 'be'. Trying to determine how many distinct letter pairs there are right now.

By my counting there's 39 distinct pairs if you include the numbers in the pairs...

Not sure if it changes if you miss out the numbers but I think there'd still be too many.

There's the linkage, for those interested. Any ideas what that song/poem/whatever has to do with anything?

Um, I posted the link in 'IU'.

Anyway, I'm not sure about the song. I'm guessing it is perhaps a clue to the code. I'm just not sure how it fits.

Rest of the lyrics.

Wiki article about song.

Edit: Ok, I took all of the letters from the song title out of the code. It may not mean crap but here it is.

Code:

parfarara
vharafahhkpp
hparophgg2hmg
kogfpp
hggaooaha
parraapfkpaof12k
parffk1vvfggapv

Here's the original code again:
Code:

mnpscharbfsibebbbelipararblica
vbharbnabbsfsincahhekpsimnpsc
hsibemnpscarsopsiblihmgmg2hsinbmg
kobhebmgfbtibbemnpscsipca
hmgmgcappmghcab
mnpscarsibcrcaalptibfksipcahofbebebsi12sck
cparfcafk1vbvfmgmgnasipv

You can listen to part of the song here

If it's a clue to the code then i don't think taking the letter from the song title out will work because if we nede to do that then it's less of a clue and more an integral part of the puzzle. We wouldn't have been able to crack the code without it....

But you never know.

So L.Boomer from IU has managed to crack the sucker. All my props are belong to him! (Old joke, but I don't care. XD) Linkage has already been provided - twice, which was my oops ^_^() - so I won't link to it again but it basically bears out that the mystery sn is in fact Synthesis and that they are watching Travis closely enough to know pretty much every move he makes.

Ah i was hoping it would lead us somewhere, so now i guess we just wait until something else comes our way. Maybe check the blog and try and catch either of them if they come online.

Checing in

Hey guys, just checking in. Glad I managed to catch this at the beginng as I haven't been able to help in an ARG since I Love Bees... Well, I was in City of Domes and What Is the Silence, but both of those fizzled. Anyway, HI!
