Hey, that's a good memorial. We can all go and get toasted in memory of Anna Wink

Now that's a good idea Very Happy
Now i'm going to throw my two quids worth in.

I think as usual with humans*, someone says something and then it gets taken out of context by others who get the wrong end of the stick and then run for miles with it. All of which ends with all people involved thoroughly pissed off at each other and will keep going like a perpetual motion machine of slagging.
I am, of course, speaking in generalities here Wink

On another note i hope to see loads of you guys there tomorrow and I hope this topic can get back to what it was originally. I mean, my post about getting empty packets from people didn't get this kind of attention.

Oh well, that's me done.

My boy is a fellow cube hunter but he doesn't have an account here yet.
So could you add him under the name "ODSTLazarusCayde"?
He'd really appricate it.

Voicing some peoples opinion, somebody wrote:
I would, with all due respect, suggest that to hold such a silence for a fictional character, rather cheapens and demeans something which is usually reserved for solemn moments of remembrance, and respect.

In this weeks fortunes, Madame Bianca sensitively wrote:
When grief for fiction's idle words more real than human life appears, reflect that life itself's a dream and do not mock the reader's tears.

To each his own, right?

I think that we should give 1000 because that the traditonal number for a wish. It would work if we got enough people you can get a paper crane folded in about 1 minet. and if you got 100 people we would only have to do 10 each. But whatever count me in. Also we need yo agree on a type of paper. Will we use duo paper or washi paper. (yay at last the years of orgami are paying off)

I hopefully recruited some people who didn't know about this last night when I told people about it and distributed a big stack of the crane patterns.... hopefully they'll find their way here and make a crane each Smile

We want to move this along pretty quickly though for it to be a timely memorial....

your enthusiasm is certainly appreciate itisme :)

however i think we want to go with 333 because then we can get everyone to do one each, rather than just a few people doing lots - and 333 is the traditional number for our game :) i think we're probably going to go with white a4 whatever type of paper people have access to - accessible to those of us without origami stashs (although i have to confess jealousy) and also a nice range of textures hopefully, to add interest to the single colour scheme.

just like to add that Mind Candy are all very excited about receiving the cranes on Anna's behalf and they think it is a lovely idea (or at least they told us so last night, whether their alcohol-addled states are reliable is another question ;) )

rach =)

It's going to be time to start folding cranes, people. Here's the lowdown on how we're going to make them :

Grab whatever white paper you have around you. Ideally (and most probably) you'll get a A4-sized page of white paper like we use in our printers and such. Fold your crane, write your name somewhere (under the wing or on the side of the crane's body) but do not pull on the wings to unfold them at the end ! We're going to keep them flat so that they can be sent in regular envelopes to the person who's going to collect them and don't get damaged in the transit. The collector will only have to pull the wings in place and then put them in the final box.

With about 32 participants, we're going to need each person to fold about 10 cranes. Of course I'll update the quantity each participant should fold if/as we get new participants but that is the general idea.

Given that SteveC, Macmonkey and spugsmeistress seem to be the 3 closest to MindCandy headquarters, I'll ask them and see who wants to get the cranes and repackage them in the end, then post here.

Cheers, Bookmore.

Yeh sorry, I don't think Ill be able to take delivery of any cranes, or make any for that matter.

Life just seems to be spiraling into a busy spin at the moment.

Sorry Anna Wink
