[EMAIL] Keith August 8 - Mask Retrieval - Town Meeting

It sounds like Keith needs help in LA and he needs our help at the town meeting next week.

Quote:
Yeah, I guess I'm OK, but that depends on your definition. I'm also still travelling too, but honestly, I'm just kinda going in circles, and I keep finding myself heading back towards the general Aglaura area. Even though what's happening there is a crock as far as them suspecting me in Brad's disappearance and the whole mask fiasco, it still doesn't sit well with me. I know, I know, I barely know any of those people. I could give two shits as far as what they think of me or what they believe. But still.

And now I've spread out my troubles, and got things falling apart on two coasts at the same time. Boy, I'm good at making a mess of things, aren't I? I made a new post to my site about the left coast issue, along with a plea for possible help. I think I may have made a mistake and need someone to help me clean it up. I know you're not in any position to help with this one, but hey, maybe you know someone there who can.

And then I start thinking about the other people, back there in Aglaura, dealing with the other mess I left behind. Especially Meaghan. She doesn't deserve to be part of all this, even if it was her crazy old man that started it all, if you ask me. And that Brad kid. Yeah, he was a wad, but Christ, his parents don't even know he's dead. That's just not right.

So what do I do? Go back somewhere that they're likely to throw me in jail and ruin my life for months if not years to come, even if I am eventually cleared? Or keep running, keep hiding, while my goddamn stomach eats me alive from the inside from the guilt and worry? Looking over my shoulder, jumping at every sound, and seeing Meaghan's face every time I close my eyes.

Listen, I had an idea. I know that the people who run the town, the Council, meet on the third Tuesday of every month. That's a week from today. I'm thinking of going there and presenting my case to the whole town, so everyone hears what I have to say and there's no chance they're going to railroad me for all of this. But I don't want to do it alone. I need you guys at my back. In fact, I was hoping maybe you could set the whole thing up for me. I know a bunch of you from outside the town were able to get yourselves heard at that meeting a couple months ago, when they shot down the Library thing. I wonder if you could do the same thing for me?

I guess I'm asking one of you out there to contact them and see if we can make arrangements to have me plead my case there, along with all of you calling in to speak out on my side, too. I think that would be too hard for them to ignore, don't you?
So, what do you think?

I got the same email (rather than a direct response to a previous email - so that information was ignored).

Here is what I sent to him.

There is someone else in town who is starting to unravel the threads that may help figure out what is really going on...and he has connections to the city council.

Bruce Abbott, the publicist for Marzent, is engaged to Diane Sprague (city council woman, Dale's ex-wife). I have been reading his blog (http://www.anonymousfame.com/iambruce/blog.html) and it seems he has found some unusual items (and hasn't been able to find the head of the company) that may be related to some of the weird things going on around Aglaura lately. I had a hard time seeing it, but was there some seriously heavy computer equipment in that video? I wonder if it is related to the invoice Bruce found (http://www.anonymousfame.com/iambruce/marzdoc.jpg)

I'm not sure why, but I think Marzent's plans, the fires around town, and Dale's weird overlay of that darn 3-0-7 symbol on the town's map is all connected. And Bruce may be the ticket, take a look at this discarded bit of paper he found (http://www.anonymousfame.com/iambruce/marzdoc2.jpg). Anything look familar to you?

Unfortunately, if you just show up or called him out of the blue, that may not get you very far. But Dale & Bruce used to be business partners and best friends. And it sounds from Bruce's latest entry he is about ready to try to mend the fences. Maybe you can talk more to Dale about what you saw out in the woods. And the two of you can approach Bruce together. You may be the next great three muskateers.

I wish I could be of more help. As you know, I'm more on the West Coast so won't be able to attend the council meeting on your behalf. And I'm actually going to be out of the country as well (you have anything you want me to take to Greenland?) so I can't make any phone calls for a week. But, as always, if you need a place to crash in Las Vegas, please don't hesitate to call. You have my cell number. As for the issue in LA, don't worry, I know a very nice lawyer (who tells some pretty funny jokes, actually) and I know he is very trustworthy, even if he is a lawyer (hey, my dad was a lawyer also, now he just plays poker and does extra work in Hollywood). If you are contacted by a Shad0, tell him I said "hi".

Please stay safe. A good nurse is a terrible thing to waste.

Heather

Same as kona, got same message, no reply to the last message.

Next question, who's closest to LA?

I'm near Phoenix right now, so I could be there in a few hours... If I could solve my lack of transportatin at the moment. Simple enough, but still a ways to go in someone else's car.

Who should we be emailing about this, then? Sam and Dale?

I can't see that working though....They'd probably lock him up.

It seems his message is the reply to MY message, I wrote him yesterday asking if he was OK and if he was travelling yet, as I hadn't heard from him for a while
I asked him about the other man interested in the masks that he mentioned in a previous email but he did not answer that part Smile

So far I believe that would be me... I am in LA County so I am generally about an 1 hour from the heart of the city....

I know there was one other person on the board who mentioned they lived in So Cal, but not sure which part...

Just let me know if you need me.

Also before I responded to his email I wanted to know if fellow unfictioners were going to be rallying for the council to hear out keith?? I think an email and a phone call wouldn't hurt... but do you think it will be beneficial to Keith? I mean if he gets there and they hear him out and then lock him up anyway??

i sent the following to him yesterday... I am thinking so many of us sent him "how are you doing messages" he didn't need to personalize it this time, because it feels like a direct response anyway.

Quote:
Keith,

Hey... How are you doing? Been worried, with no contact.

I spoke to Sarah, after watching her whole world crumbled, I had to tell her I was holding one of her masks for safe keeping for a while. She was not only thrilled, but begged me not to send the mask back to Aglaura yet. She seems to feel no ill will against us, or you.

You said that there was someone else interested in the masks - can you elaborate on that?

Oh and to answer you, Gizmo is doing great. He has learned to sit {for the most part} and is almost 100% house broken now. No amusement parks in his future, but he loves being outside and around people.

good luck, stay safe, reply soon
Taryn

Got the same letter. I replied to Keith and told him that I was glad someone was interested in Meaghan since her mother, future (?) stepfather, and even her father didn't seem to be concerned about her. I suggested that he might be her (Meaghan's) champion.

I said I would contact Dale about the council meeting and see if he could help. I also suggested that we might want to find a local lawyer who would be willing to take on his case. Is there a lawyer or public defender listed in AIN?

There's a Dolores Castillo of the Castillo and Baines firm. But she seems to specialize in divorces.

I got the same email, I think we should talk to Dale first before we talk to anyone esle abotu this. Dale already knows Keith so it he will be easiest to convince for help. I also am afraid if we ask the wrong person Keith may be caught and jailed or set up some how. What if we ask someone that is secretly working for marzent? That would be bad
