Library Move in Progress

The move to the Aglaura Public Library's new location is underway. The former site of the library burned down in an act of arson last month. Local businesswoman Phyllis Willingham closed her antique store, The Hollow Needle, and donated the space for the library's new home. Willingham decided to move to Princeton in order to remain closer to her husband, who is in that area for extended medical treatment.

Head librarian Sarah Wyatt has been working with Aglaura mayor Pat Dobbs, as well as other city council members, on the planning and implementation of the new library facility. Mayor Dobbs was quoted as saying, "Although the new library will be much smaller in both scope and content at first, everyone has great hopes that the old building will make a wonderful new library."

Arson Investigation Update

Aglaura police chief Dawn Prufrock has announced that one of the rumored suspects of the recent acts of arson has been cleared of any involvement. Former city councilman Dale Sprague was rumored to have some knowledge of the crime. Police investigation has discovered that Sprague's initial story was truthful. Sprague had claimed to have left the library at least an hour before the fire broke out. Security cameras at nearby Ash Grove Park recorded the arrival of Sprague's car and placed him at the park significantly before the fire at the library is thought to have started.

No Leads in Missing Persons Case

Chief Prufrock announced that there has been no forward movement on the missing persons case that the police department has been investigating for several weeks. The chief stated, "It's beginning to look more and more like the missing person may have just run away, and there are indications that he may be travelling with the one named 'person of interest' in the case, former Aglaura resident Keith McCoy."

Marzent Calls Press Conference

Bruce Abbott, spokesman for local construction and development company Marzent, has announced a press conference for next Monday, August 7 at 2:00 EDT to discuss their latest plans for continued redevelopment of the Aglaura area, their reaction to the recent fires that involved several Marzent facilities, and a proposal to help the town recover from those same fires.

Interesting. I hope we'll be able to participate in the press conference.

Anyone got ideas as to the right questions to ask if we do?

Someone should take up the role as a rabid evironmental activist. Razz

Seriously though, I'm thinking a few of the questions should be about A) The library and the plans with it and B) the environmental impacts to the Pine Barrens of construction.

Did we miss the press conference? I checked Aglaura's webisted and there's no update since the 2nd and nothing about a press conference on Marzent's site.

Forgot all about it.
I sent Marzent a query about it asking if it was held, if so, where? and is there a release associated with the event available.

Thank you. I got to thinking about it when Keith mentioned the council meeting.
