[EMAIL] Sam July 31 & Aug 1 & 8 - MyUpload Block, JD

I posted this interchange in the MyUploads thread when access became password protected. Then Sam responded pretty quickly. Here are all 4 emails for continuity.

Sam,

I'm not sure if you are the right person to tell this, but I think
Iris has either knowingly, or unknowingly, shared out onto the
internet some private papers that belong to Phyllis. Specifically,
they appear to be JD's journal and some letters that Phyllis wrote to
Iris.

I found them by accident when Iris had her Jersey Devil Hunt poster on
the Unnatural Emporiums home page. There was suppose to be a link to
open the poster but it was a messed up page that had a strange part to
the url. By removing the very end of that, I had access to this:
http://www.edgeofsight.com/MyUploads/

If this is not a mistake, my bad. But I'm not sure the snooping
public should have access to some (all) of this. Not fair to JD and
Phyllis (and I know you harbor no malice towards them). On the other
hand, maybe after you read them you might see that Sarah could be in a
bad place if she moves back into that house!!!

Should I say something to Iris about this page being found?

Heather,

Thanks for the heads up. I told Iris the other day that she had left
her "private" directory open for the world to see. I left her
instructions on how to fix it by adding a password (and hopefully she
listened and made it a secure one). I wasn't going to stick around her
store for any longer than I had to...she was trying to get me to lay
down and balance crystals on my body. That's weird with a capital W. I
didn't even look to see what was in the unprotected directory... there
were letters and journals in there? Ugh, it figures. That's completely
irresponsible of her. I told Iris when I set up the site that she
shouldn't upload anything that she doesn't want everyone in the world to
see.

Why do you say that Sarah shouldn't move into the Willingham's house?
Did the letters talk about a termite infestation or high lead readings
or something?

Sam,

Iris took your advice and protected the page yesterday. But I think
more importantly, is WHY does she have Phyllis' letters and JD's
journals uploaded on her server?

You should have read the journal pages, Sam, like I suggested. JD was
seeing things in the walls and hearing voices in the basement. And
something down there was controlling him - causing him to strike out
at Phyllis...not to mention smoking! JD never smoked a day in his
life yet these past few months he was lighting up! Psychotic breaks
like this don't just happen over night - but in this case it did.
Something happened in the basement that changed JD (for the worse).
Something is behind the walls of that old building...

As I mentioned last week, both Dale & Sarah have shared dreams in
their blogs that mention something hidden behind walls. I still think
that the library was a target for demolition in order to release
something from behind the basement walls...and the Hollow Needle may
be also on that list.

Meanwhile, I can't wait for the Intranet to get up and running. I
want to chat with my parents and friends in real time - emails seem to
take forever.

Heather,

Ok, you're starting to give me the heebie jeebies here.

I knew that JD was (is) sick and that he had hit Phyllis, but he was
hearing voices too? Poor JD. Ugh, and poor Phyllis too! I don't know
how she can cope with that and not go insane herself. I'm sure she
feels utterly hopeless. Is she the one who has been talking about
something "doing" this to JD or is that Iris's metaphysical spin on things?

[EMAIL] Sam Aug 5 - Did Phyllis give Iris JD's Journal?

konamouse wrote:
Well, before the page was protected, I read through all of the posted
items (sorry, I'm an internet snoop). Poor Phyllis appeared to think
she caused JD to go "crazy" but things were not so bad until JD
started "redoing" the basement. One of her letters to Iris mentioned
that the walls were torn apart. And after that is when he got
violent. His last "journal" found it's way on to Iris' page (how did
she get ahold of these anyway????). He mentioned "dead guys" and
hearing voices, having dreams about fire (like Sarah & Dale posted in
their blogs). And I have a strange question for you. Did Wes smoke?

I feel bad about asking this, Sam, but maybe there was an ulterior
motive Iris had for having these documents - cause some of them would
belong to Phyllis, not Iris? Course, now I can't see them anymore.
Darn it (/me feels bad about eavesreading). Now I'm sort of bummed I
told you about it. I know it was the right thing to do and all that,
but the snoop in me is not happy. And that brings me to another weird
question. Does Iris have any kids? Do you know someone named Jason?
I remember seeing that name in one of Phyllis' letters to Iris that
was posted, and that he did something stupid like boys would do, but
wasn't terribly hurt (thank goodness).

Oooh, just saw that you updated the website and the Intranet
registration is starting. SWEET!!! Cya online soon.

Heather,

Wow. Just wow. And don't worry about explaining to me why you've
done some internet snooping... I've done my fair share. Wink

From what you said, it sounds like these are scans of letters from
Phyllis to Iris? But some of them are scans of JD's journal too?
Maybe Phyllis sent Iris his journal (or copies of it)? I know that
Iris and Phyllis were friends from way before Iris moved here so it's
conceivable that they would confide in each other about things like
that, I guess. Maybe she was hoping Iris could do some sort of tarot
reading or tea leaves to help her figure out what's going on with JD?
I'm not trying to make light of JD's problems, I'm really not. I'm
just wondering if Phyllis was so desperate that she asked for
Iris's "New Age help"?

You've definitely got my curiousity piqued. You wouldn't have
happened to save those scanned documents? Or maybe they're in your
cache? Because if Iris followed my suggestion, she would have made a
nice, secure password for that directory. Although, knowing her it's
probably something totally not secure.

[EMAIL] Sam gives hint to Iris' password!!

konamouse wrote:
Yes, I have a scan of the documents. You want to read them? They are
on my home computer (I'm at work right now).

So, Iris is still playing with New Age crystals and such? She hasn't
suggested any seances yet, has she? I agree with you, Iris doesn't
strike me as someone who knows how to make secure passwords. She
would be the type to pick a word that has some meaning. You have any
ideas what she would have for a user name?

You forgot some of my questions - Did Wes smoke? And do you know
anyone named Jason associated with Iris?

I have a new question for you.....is there any archived news article
about how & when Wes died? Was there a funeral/burial? I'm not a
morbid person, just confused about it since Dale put him in the comic
book, as if he is still alive...and it seems it was his computer that
is used in the "Interlude" piece with the instant message "TAP TAP
TAP").

hehehe, on the IntraNet you are the closest person to my pin who is
*in* Aglaura. Both my folks are way far away from me (who'd a thunk
that?). I like the picture posting section - can't wait to see if
someone does a little video (not me, don't have a video camera).

Speaking of videos, have you seen those posted by MrLeeds (I don't
think this is Cecil from AshGrove Park, though) on YouTube? And now
they can be seen from the http://www.devilinthebackyard.com/ website.
Not sure I'm going to go see this movie. I was not a fan of Blair
Witch.

Oooh, more people registered on the IntraNet. Time to snoop in their
public profiles Smile

Hints to solve Iris' password (Bold was put in by me.)

Sam wrote:
Heather,

Yeah, Iris is still playing with stones. No seances yet, but you
wouldn't believe the new content she's planning to put on her site. I
wouldn't be surprised if a Wes Keeler Seance is the next thing coming.

The woman has seriously gone too far. I knew she was going to do this,
I just knew it. She's using the "Wes sighting" to promote the store,
like he's the new Jersey Devil or something. I can't take it anymore.
Screw her. I wasn't even going to try to guess her password I swear,
Heather. I was still struggling with whether or not I was going to ask
you to see those scans. But she made it so damn easy. Anybody who
knows her name and visits her website could figure out her username and
password.
Typical.

Anyway, those letters from Phyllis are scary... I feel a bit guilty
about reading them (even though I could easily convince myself that it's
Iris's fault), but at least I feel like I can maybe do something for
Phyllis? I'm sure Sarah already knows what's going on with JD, but
maybe should I tell her anyway? She's really in a better position to
help out Phyllis than I am.

Ugh. Well, enough about all of that. Let's see about those questions...

Wes didn't smoke, at least not in the past decade or two. I think he
did when he was a kid, but who didn't, right? He didn't die from any
sort of health related thing if that's what you were wondering. It was
a car accident. He didn't do anything wrong... he wasn't even the one
driving... it was so unfair. There was a funeral here in town.

I hadn't been to the Devil in the Backyard site in a while. When did
that put all that up there? I still haven't been able to confirm if
Todd has anything to do with Wesson. I did try to email them when they
were having their casting call in town, but I never even got a reply
from them. I guess I didn't "qualify". If they have some sort of
premiere for it near here, you should totally come! When's the last
time you visited the 'rents anyway?
