Can we get a census of people who are planning on making the pre- and post events, so that we can plan a meet up or dinner/drinks afterwards?
Also, who's planning on staying at the Oakland Marriott (across the street from the pre- and post-game events, also 7 miles from OAK). I know of a couple people staying there and would be nice to hook everyone up. Also, any locals willing to give rides across the bay to the live event?

I'm getting in Friday and available for any pre or post events. Staying at the hotel in Oakland. I may drop by Endgame but if its just a sales event, well, I order online. I'll probably drop by anyway. Mind Candy is having a post-thingie down near the Palace which I'll probably swing by. Can someone suggest a place to meet for dinner Friday (in Oakland) and Saturday (in SF)?

move to [EVENT] San Francisco - Event Planning, Info, ... I've always been partial to the hofbrau Tommy's Joynt , on Van Nees and Geary, for reasonably cheap eats ($6-9 hot sandwiches).
Or Judah Okazu-ya for sushi, at 39th & Judah (in the Sunset).

Here's a list of possible locations that I think could be involved, bearing in mind that we only have 4 and a half hours.
Golden Gate Park
Haight Street
Union Square
Sony Metreon
Possibly a trek up to the bridge but defo not across it (I've been there, its not worth it and takes about 2 hours round trip on foot)
Fisherman's Wharf
Chinatown
Presidio Park is an option, but its so easy to get lost in there...
Exploratorium?

Has anyone looked at the map of Perplex City and possible points of correspondence with a map of San Francisco? just generalities, not geography so much as landmarks.
How about skyline? Ascendency Point has a similarity to the TransAmerica Pyramid like few other buildings.

What's up guys.
I'm local, I'm signed up for the event on Sat. and I've been spending the last few days getting caught up. I also plan to head on over to Endgame on Friday the 11th, maybe pick up some new cards and meet some of you! you better be there, ariock For Saturday, I'm wide open and plan on doing PXC stuff all day. I have a car and I'll bring a map.

Maybe I should wear my nametag from the LCP cemetery games...
I'm not doing *anything* on the Oakland side of the bay, but I hope there is a general cluster of Unfiction people somewhere near the registration area. I do want to hug at least a few of the out-of-towners!

Count me in.
I'll be there with at least one, possibly two other new players.
Alas, I'll not have my vidcam with me like I did with the LCP California events.
However, in recompense, I'll have a zippy Honda Fit with which to tear around the streets of San Francisco.

You guys that want to be on the same roaming team(s), I hoping you're PM'ing each other with meet instructions! Otherwise we need someone local to announce an easily findable spot around the Palace (like "the west entrace" or "by the statue of ____" or something like that) for everyone to find each other. And a time. I suggest 9:30 (because we should expect the event organizers will have things you need to do at the 10:30 start, even if it's just standing in line to register). Speak up!
And of course we can find catherwood over by the registration table, but I'm afraid there will be a lot of other people there at the same time. Oh, and don't forget to worship catherwood for finding the "Billion to One" card location.
I will also be hanging out at the Palace and not running around, unless I get drafted. (Not really volunteering, but I will have a car.)
I'm still waiting for an idea for dinner Friday in Oakland if anyone is interested. I am partial to Chinese food. Hint. Ariock, you live there someplace, right? Dinner?
And for afters on Saturday - either after the Mind Candy postevent, or in the event the Mind Candy thing is too big, where can we go? I suppose we ought to stay down there in the same general vicinity, in any case. Some people may not have cars or may not want to move cars from legal parking spaces. Suggestions? (ouroboros, I don't know how far away the places you suggested are).

Well, Uno's is less than 2 miles from the Palace of Fine Arts and serves some pretty decent 'za, for those who're into those kinda things...

Anybody happen to know if there's going to need to be coordination between on and offline folks? If so, I'm volunteering myself as someone onsite.

I'll be arriving in San Francisco with JUST enough time to make it to Endgame at around 9pm on Friday. I'd love to meet for dinner and such afterwards. I'm leaving at 8:30ish Sunday, so I can probably do a little bit before then, too. Also somewhat looking for a team for the event - hoping to have one before the gathering.

Friday Evening Across the street from Endgame, there is a pub called Pacific Coast Brewing Company. They have food, drinks, and free wifi according to the sign outside.
EDIT: Got name of the pub right.

Ok that sounds like a good option to me, I'm open to whatever kind of food that night. (not familiar with Oaktown)

Count me in for Friday after Endgame's trading/event/whatever. My hotel is supposedly also right across the street from Endgame so it'll be a short stumble home.
