I don't know why, exactly, but I have a feeling that the puzzle may have nothing to do with musical notes.

Anyone know anything about Excel spreadsheets?

Speaking of Excel . . . . here's a graph of the notes in excel. Using the note names as the column letter and starting with the b below the bass clef as b1, we get this.

Check my graphing if you will. I did it very quickly.

 		Might there be some significance to the fact that all of the notes are eighth notes? My first thought was 8 might mean binary, but I don't see that working out.

EDIT: Additionally, some of the notes seem to be in awfully odd positions - you'd have to call the first note in the last bass clef staff a B due to lack of additional lines, but if so, it should be touching the top line of the staff (like the first B in the middle bass clef staff). This note is hanging out somwhere in space.

Those are some of the reasons that I suspect the answer may not have anything to do with musical notes -- as if the message is hidden in some dots, and then Lyn added the staff lines and tails and such to make it look like music.

(Maybe Constellations? Cassiopeia is Greek for "she whose words excel," but I don't see her in the notes. Ahhh, I'm just spit-balling here.)

 		What stands out, at first glance, to me is the difference in distance between notes. For example, there's a lot more space between the first note (on bass2) and the next note (on treble2) then there is between the first and second on, say, bass1. When I look at the sheet as a whole, it looks like the notes are lined up to make "words" of 1, 3, 1, 4, and 3 notes (top to bottom).

Hmm...for some reason, I find it interesting that we were given only a section of a paper of "sheet music". We have 3 full bass clef staffs, and 4 treble clef. Probably doesn't mean anything. I've wondered if the "dots" (if they're not really notes) are morse code or brail or something...but the EXCEL hint seems to definitely point to something in Excel. Hmm.

(Sorry for the double post!) I checked the brail against the Excel spreadsheet notes, but you get "BVLCALU" which I don't think means anything. Doesn't work with morse either.
I modified the picture to be just dots...

 		Got it - and the right way this time.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The dots are indeed key - start a chart with the left-most dot as A. The next one over is D - B and C are in the space between them. Continue on with similar spacing through U. Then, read the dots top to bottom. The message - GET USED TO DISAPPOINTMENT.
