The planned bombing is a coincidence. The most cube hunters are british is because Perplex City is currently London based. Everything else is not a coincidence.

Okay, I recently retried the email. Still no go, but this time the response comes from Mind Candy's systems:

Mind Candy wrote:

Subject: Message Undelivered

Hello,

This is the mailer daemon at outgoing.sandbox.mindcandy. I'm sorry, but I have been unable to deliver your message. I shall keep trying every hour for the next 7 days. If you don't hear from me again, you may assume your message has been delivered.

The reason why your message hasn't been delivered so far is that the handover to incoming.sandbox.academy is not receiving appropriate response signals. Preliminary diagnostic information available to me indicates that there has been a critical failure in Data Link Process Daemon (daemon subprocess 7na2).

Should you wish further information on this error, please access your designated support resource. Unfortunately, the security context for this instance dictates I may not disclose your designated support resource.

Heh - unusually friendly daemon they have... well, apart from the last bit anyway.

(Incidentally, I hope they know what they're doing - careless autoresponses cause mail loops, and if their postmaster address is blocked too... well, if they get lynched by a mob of angry sysadmins before we get the cube, that'd be bad. Of course, I doubt they'd be that stupid.)

Nope.

I spec that teh3P are going to nuke the Academy. (And a good chunk of Perplex City . . . but since when do they care about innocent lives?)

I check at 10AM: nothing new.
I check at 3PM: we're on forced radio silence.
Shocked

This had to be one hell of a power-play by the O# operatives. But, considering everything that's been getting warped on even the cards along the network, a total wipeout should've been forseen. I'm surprised that Mind Candy and the CRR weren't more concerned about attempts to kill the connection.

Of course, "Say Goodbye" could've meant (and could still mean) something a whooooole lot worse. I have faith that our friends on the other end can survive three days without us, but then again, there's a lot of unfinished business on both ends.

So, all I know is I know nothing. See everyone Saturday! Dunno

Now I really wish I could make it to SF! Argh, stupid life getting in the way! It's going to have to be awesome at this rate. ;_;

I agree, I think we will not hear anything from PXC for another 3 days. I wish I could have been there at San Fransico with all of you lucky people! Unforunatly, being like 3000 miles away and having a job, SAT prep and a whole mess of other things, can't But I will be here for the online part!

Let's all start emailing the various PXC websites with useless info, since the 3P are probably recording all emails going through the link. Let's send up a wall of disinformation to confuse them.

Time to bust out secret codes and such!

Goooo!

How can the Academy help with setting up the new connection if the first connection is down?

Well, they had to get the *first* one set up somehow without a data link.

I'm guessing they're going to use whatever method they used then.

And of course, speaking OOG for a second, this complete shut-off between the players and the characters means MC can focus all their attention on this weekend... Which can only be a good thing from our POV, right?

[SPEC]Has anyone checked the Receda Trail websites for clues/differences? To me, keeping them up when everything else is down seems like they want us to check them out.[/SPEC]

Whipsmart Website

Anyone have any idea what's happened to the Whipsmart Website? I have a nasty feeling that those evil buggers of the third power have taken all the cute cows and milkmaids and shot them!

check out the website, I have checked the source and there is nothing hidden on the page. Simply:

"say goodbye to perplex city"

Given that Scarlett's Myspace account is still with us, it looks like (much to my surprise) Rupert Murdoch is not (yet) a Third Power agent. Wink
