** SF EVENT: INCOMING **

The San Francisco Connection is now upon us - Perplex City's biggest ever live
event! The Academy scribes have created a huge, high-tech and cryptic puzzle
hunt that will trigger the second datalink to Perplex City, and now the first
link appears to have been sabotaged, it's vital everyone helps to restore our
connection. It's still not too late to register:

There'll be an online event simultaneously, so be ready on Saturday morning
(USA West Coast) Saturday afternoon (US East Coast) or Saturday evening
(Europe) to join in. You'll be receiving your instructions via email sometime

** ASK(ED) MIND CANDY! **

Last time around, we invited you to send us your questions! You obliged with
great enthusiasm, and the answers are now available to view in exciting video
format! We'll be making a new episode every two weeks, and there's even a
competition to create the Ask MC theme tune for future episodes. So check it
out, and get involved - there'll be more questions answered, and a new
slightly-less-impromptu contest next Thursday.

** LOST: THE CUBE. FOUND: NEW POSTERS. **

** NEW WEBSITE FEATURES **

Even more elbow grease has been applied to PerplexCity.com. You can now rate
every card you've ever solved (or tried to solve!) as well as view how other
people have rated them. Also, you can view anyone's solved cards in the order
they were solved, by card number, or grouped by waves, sets and borders.

** STORY UPDATE **

The mystery of Anna Heath's disappearance was solved in the most unpleasant
way: her body was found mutilated in the catacombs under the Old Town. The
Academy, and the whole city, has been shocked by her murder.

But even Anna's death has been overshadowed in recent hours. The data link
connecting Perplex City and Earth has been lost, and for a while, even our
Earth-based sites were disrupted in a systematic attack on the Mind Candy
communications grid. What seemed like a technical glitch now appears to be a
co-ordinated assault by the Third Power. Is this all part of a sinister
masterplan...?

** LEADERBOARD UPDATE **

It's all topsy-turvy and decidedly skew-whiff this week as Wave 4 sends
shockwaves through the leaderboard! Guin has grabbed the top spot having
solved 251 cards and a staggering 15,066 points, leaving former number #1
Tally in the dust. Only six cards remain totally unsolved - Circuitous,
Clinical Explanation, Billion To One, Shuffled, The Thirteenth Labour... oh,
and Riemann. This week's best new player is alfredhw with 2876 points and
104 solves, while thereverendeg has had a brilliant first month with 12,278
points and 238 solves altogether. Splendid stuff, one and all!
