See http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=16376 for the candy bar giveaway locations/dates/times from the new U.S. distribution button. Cool

The letters you can make out embossed on the bar don't appear to relate to the name of the bar, could one of the upcoming fragment codes for Hanso Exposed be embossed on the bars they are giving away?

I don't think they will reveal glyphs through the chocolate bars. If Apollo is owned by The Hanso Foundation they would have no desire to help us with this Sri Lanka video.

Didn't Rachel use to work at the Hanso Foundation, or one of it's subsidiaries? And didn't Hugh McIntyre let Darla give loads of information to Rachel?

I'd say the Hanso Foundation's not that popular with it's employees.

The site links back to www.thehansofoundation.org.

That familiar site now includes a flash link to an advert presented by their president & cheif technologist, Mr Mittelwerk.

On first viewing I can't see anything helpful in it--I doubt it deserves a new thread--but maybe you see more than me...

Edit: ...and I guess everyone's already noticed that the candy site is a new Jeep spruke - used by date on the example pictured being Oct 23 06.

Has anyone else noticed that if you run through the various pages - The Jeep, The Beginning, The Ad etc. eventually the US Distribution button switches to a UK Distribution one? Clicking on it just gives me a page that hangs up with the phrase "loading"...maybe that means there's hope for an Apollo bar for those outside the US!

I thought perhaps we should be wary of actually obtaining and eating the chocolate bars, especially if they're a product of the Hanso Foundation and Dr. Hackett's research. That was my original belief.

However, I spoke with a certain someone, and he reminded me of the sign language video in which we learn that Mittelwerk and Hackett had a falling-out. He believes that the chocolate bars that they're giving away contain a vaccine, and he's also going to try and obtain a box of them to give away to people who can't make it to the large cities where they are being distributed.

A vaccine for what? Perhaps a vaccine that protects against a disease that Mittelwerk is releasing in Sri Lanka.

I thought that as well. I wondered why giving it away was part of the story.

"The chocolate is free?"
"Yes, but it brainwashes you."
"Hmmm tough call."
"Yeah"
"But it's free, right?"
"Yes"
"I'll take two."

You know, I was going to make a vague reference to Soylent Green... But you've already done that!

I originally thought that Apollo Candy was bought by Hanso so that Dharma could feed it to its hatch-dwellers to keep them either sane or crazy. Possibly crazy

Episode 2x18:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Hurley sure did eat a lot of chocolate before seeing Dave... But then I suppose Hurley was crazy anyway, it might not have had anything to do with chocolate.

So, yeah. I'm not sure I need a vaccine. But I would like some free chocolate.

I assume she's refering to the free chocolate live event-ish thingy, which now appears to be happening in the UK too.

Quote:
The Apollo Candy Company is proud to announce the Apollo Bar, the world's most delectable chocolate sensation, is now available, for the first time ever, in the UK!!!

How can I get one, you ask?

It's easy! We're giving them away! While supplies last, simply go to your nearest Forbidden Planet store (from Thurs 24th August) and say the daily code. Trust us! Your tummy will thank you.

Thursday's code is "Alvar Hanso".
Good eating, UK!!

Forbidden Planet? Hmm..kay. I found a store locater here. 11 stores in the whole country. But we're a small country, so it's okay.

There is a slight problem, being that there are two almost identical companies called Forbidden Planet in the UK. One is International, and one isn't.
http://www.forbiddenplanet.co.uk/ has more stores in the UK, but is a different company to the one posted by Strings. Manchester has an International store, (Bizarre that the international one is .co.uk don't you think?)
I shall try the International store tomorrow Smile

New York Giveaway time?

I was planning to go to the Central Park giveaway tomorrow, but now I see that "ESPN New York Park Avenue Country Club" is added for today, but with no time listed. Does that mean they're giving them away when the place opens (11:30am)? Because it's 11:12 am now and that means I should be leaving...uh, now. Well, if I find anything I'll let y'all know.

here's one comment from speaker's blog comments:

"Skirtz -- From what I know, it is at the Park Avenue Country Club, in the area where the ESPN event is being held, starting at 5:30pm."

another comment from TLEC
"Scott said...

This may be very imprtant from a logistical sense. I just called the Park Avenue Country Club and they told me that the event begins at 5:00 and you must pre-RSVP through ESPN. I didn't quite get the email to RSVP, but it was something like nycfantasyfootballeventSPLATespn.com "

and finally
" Scott, et al. (I think you got it right, but maybe you don't need to get inside to get an Apollo bar:

This is the info address for the ESPN Fantasy Football draft in 5 cities.

http://espn.go.com/specialsection/coke/index.html
For NYC:
DATE: Wednesday, August 23rd
TIME: 5:30 PM
LOCATION: NYC - Park Avenue Country Club (381 Park Avenue South - corner of 27th street)
RESERVATIONS:
NYCFantasyFootballeventSPLATespn.com"
