Arg! I've been using Agent Lex's flash tool. If I try a conservative route (i.e. not taking any chances with rule breaking) I constantly come out at 310, even if the route itself changes at some point. If I use a dangerous route (i.e. some minor clipping of guards field of view) I can get it in 250.

My route has been (roughly speaking) - head to the left button first, press it, head to the button above that, press it, head up and to the right and hide out across the corridor while the 3 guards pass, head back across and hit the 3rd button (top left hand button), follow the route of the guard round then head to the right hand side, press the top right hand button, head down and across, hit the bottom left hand button, head for the door... (hope this makes sense)

Can anyone tell me if I'm wasting my time on this route?

Thanks! I think I tried not to follow that guard before (I'm assuming I've got the right one as there is only 1 I follow all the way) but found I kept getting caught. I'll try it again.

I am still not really clear whether this card is hopelessly imprecise or a good puzzle. After an initial false start, I got the answer fairly quickly after I had run up a sim. For those interested, it is http://www.kalva.demon.co.uk/pc-cards/pc254.html.

I feel its not giving enough information to you, BUT that in itself makes it harder I guess and worthy of a silver ??..

However I really started to feel towards the end that it was just a case of I'm thinking of a number.

But its solvable, people have proved that Smile

Even using the flash I can't get anywhere, once I hit the pink guard my brain dies on me. ;_;

Your not supposed to kill the guards Very Happy thats where you are going wrong.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

There is a point that involves a lot of double backing on yourself and waiting for guards to pass

I'm not, what I meant was that once I get to the pink guard, I can't tally up the numbers and keep track, even on paper.

Then I would greatly suggest the use of Agent Lex's flash program (found on page 1 of this very thread) http://www.noblesse-oblige.org/agentlex/Escape.html

So much easier then pen and paper.

P.S. would be so much easier if we could kill the guards though don't you think Smile Smile

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

We're getting 270. Any hints of a time range we should be aiming at?

If you read back in the thread, I was slightly miffed (this being a rather polite understatement) that the second of your spoilerised ranges was not accepted when I put it in on the first Monday or Tuesday as it looks alright to me, and that the accepted answer was a larger number. However, I have now got over it (grrrrrrr...)

I am getting a much lower number than you guys, AND I avoid all the guards. *shrug* I'll try my submit tonight and see what happens.

*Finally* Got it!

Thanks for all the hints guys!

Still don't get why the lower numbers aren't accepted though...
