[NEW MESSAGE] Sente's Message, People of Earth: Hello

Sente's Message
People of Earth: Hello.

My name is Sente Kiteway, and IÕm the Master of the Perplex City Academy. Congratulations on your achievement in establishing the data link. Once again, your intelligence and sharpness has surpassed all expectations. Well done.

As you may have noticed, the link between our worlds has been disrupted for the past few days. This was immediately a cause of grave concern. But our fears have deepened since discovering the cause of the interference.

Two days ago, an energy surge occurred here in Perplex City, blacking out many city blocks. When power was restored, we found that the surge had briefly created a wormhole, originating here and terminating somewhere in North America.

That surge of power broke the original data link between us. We have no idea who caused it, but in the absence of a culprit, we can only assume that their intentions are hostile.

The game has changed. From this point on, I advise you all to stay alert. There is a new player on the board.

[Interference begins, the signal deteriorating to nothing throughout the next paragraph]

I will endeavour to keep you up to date with developments and discoveries here. For your part, I hope you will redouble your efforts to find the Cube. I sense that time is running short, but I continue to have every confidence in your abilities...

At that moment, a Third Power agent called the mobile phones of the Cube Hunters and gave them a warning: briefly, stay away from the Cube, or else.

To emphasize the seriousness of the threat, the agent (and his accomplices) swooped over the crowd of Cube Hunters in a pair of helicopters.

One of the Cube Hunters managed to record both of the Third Power's messages and we provide them here for you: the first message and the second message.

Message 1) http://emergency.perplexcity.com/main/phonemessage1.mp3
Message 2) http://emergency.perplexcity.com/main/phonemessage2.mp3

The game has changed. The hunt for the Cube is now a race. Be vigilant, and be quick.

To be fair, the agent sounds like a pansy!

Not very threatening...i'd take him down with a hand tied behind my back! Laughing

I concur with cruse4 to change accents is rather cheap. As if James Bond decided to go undercover with a Boston accent, "shaaaaken not Staaaaaard" I'm sure LouMac would understand (only with a stuffie in his mouth I'm sure) I'm only teasing. Congrats on your contributions. I wish I would have got back sooner.
Thanks again,
Brian

Jeez. I stop checking the forums for a little while, and look what happens. Friends are dead, connections are broken and re-established, and more gosh darned helicoptors.

Good work to all you out there who helped fix the connection. I salute you.

The agent sounds suspiciously Australian. Or South African. Or a Kiwi.

And there I was thinking it sounded like Bertie Crouch Senior from the Harry Potter movies. ;P

Are you trying to say Trigger is a 3P agent?

Nice one Dave.

The world as we know it is being taken over by green and brown furry fruit!

I wish I could have been there, trust me to go to the one event with no helicopters Sad

I couldn't even help online as I was at work and then had agreed to babysit straight after work. Luckily I set my boyfriend on the case. He was very excited to take part and wishes me to say well done and hello and good luck. Same from me.

Something about that last line bothers me...

It's a race? Aren't the 3P the ones who stole the cube, and spirited it away to Earth?

If they're the ones who hid the cube, and hacked the cards with the clues to where it is, why wouldn't they just drive over and pick it up?

Unless they truly don't know where it is (rogue agent stole off with it?)... and, then the question is, *who* then put those clues on there?

Well 3P did try to steal the cube but someone got there before them so they likely dont know where it is either. So up to us to find it before they do.

I was thinking the same, if the 3p did know where the cube was then its barely a fair race, it would be like having a race where one person has 100m to run and the other has a maze to run through.

What would be really cool is if MC hired a group to find the cube (without giving them any added information) before us and it really is a race! Maybe they could set up some way of letting us know their progress like the leaked e-mails.
