[AIN] Dale August 14 - Meaghan

Dale wrote:
I just wanted to let you know, along with all of my other online friends out there, that Meaghan is not home yet. We still have no idea where she is at, or who she is with.

We're organizing a more formal search effort here in Aglaura though it certainly isn't happening fast enough for either me or Diana. Sam has a few ideas on how we can use my online friends to help out in the search, along with the local volunteers we are organizing. I'll be sure to let you know what she comes up with and what we are doing about finding her.

I can tell you that I am just about going crazy with concern and impatience.

I don't know what I would do if something happened to Meg.

Here's the message I got from Dale:

Thanks for your message of concern but no, Meaghan is not home yet. We still have no idea where she is at, or who she is with. I tell you what though, she'd better not be with that Keith guy or there will definitely be Hell to pay. I've sent him off an email to make sure, but I don't think he would do that, pick her up or meet with her or anything, without letting me know, since we've been corresponding lately.

In any case, we're organizing a search effort here in Aglaura though it certainly isn't happening fast enough for either me or Diana. Sam has a few ideas on how we can use my online friends to help out in the search, along with the local volunteers we are organizing as well. I'll be sure to let you know what she comes up with and what we are doing about finding her.

I can tell you that I am just about going crazy with concern and impatience.

I don't know what I would do if something happened to Meg.

Thanks for your concern and your offer to help out in whatever way you can. Meaghan is not home yet. We still have no idea where she is at, or who she is with.

We're organizing a more formal search effort here in Aglaura though it certainly isn't happening fast enough for either me or Diana. Sam has a few ideas on how we can use my online friends to help out in the search, along with the local volunteers we are organizing, so I may be able to take you up on your offer to help very soon. I'll be sure to let you know what she comes up with and what we are doing about finding her.

I can tell you that I am just about going crazy with concern and impatience.

I don't know what I would do if something happened to Meg.

I made bold the part that is different.

Mountain Girl,

Sorry it's been a few hours but I've been out combing the streets looking for Meaghan and then helping get everything organized at the municipal building.

We're almost positive now that Meaghan has gone into the Pine Barrens by herself, from some papers and maps she took off of Bruce's desk at home. They were basically the same maps and 307 overlays I've been working with and that I posted earlier. Plus I've been told by a few people that they think Keith spent a good bit of time talking to Meaghan about that same 307 symbol, so we're almost positive that, for some reason, that's where she's headed.

The problem is, there are a bunch of different spots marked off on those maps, so there's a huge area for us to search. That's why it's taken so long to get organized and ready, which we almost are now, I think. I just ran home here to catch up on my messages and pick up a few things, since who knows how long we'll be out there now.

We've got another problem now too, though. As soon as they figured out that's where Meg might have gone, Diana took off into the woods looking for her, by herself. Bruce said he couldn't stop her, he turned his back and she was gone. She took her cell phone at least but reception is very weird out in the Barrens, and spotty at best. We have no idea if we'll be able to find her that way, so we may be searching for two lost people when all is said and done.

Sam's got something in the works she thinks may help us find them, but it may need some additional manpower to help manage it, so if you've got some time this evening, please check out the Aglaura website where she'll be posting details on how you could help out if you are willing.

I did charge my cell phone up all day and I'm taking it with me, so if I can I'll stay in touch by phone, but like I said, cell service is unreliable out there.

Thanks for your message. It's good to know there are people out there who care and are willing to help.

Dale

Wish Us Luck

Well we have a bunch of search parties in the edge of the woods right now. It took a while to get them set up and ready to go, and to come up with a communications and grid system we could use to try and keep track of it all, but at least they are out there right now. I stayed behind just a bit just to make sure everything's working properly for Sam's idea and to send this one last message before I go in there, since I'm not sure when my phone will be working again. Yeah, I'm texting this into the IntraNet and the system is sending it on to you; Sam's a real miracle worker sometimes. And if her other idea works out, we may be able to find them quickly, Let's hope.

Sam is supposed to be posting details of what she has set up to allow you online to stay in touch and even help out. So check out the Aglaura site and the IntraNet if you are able to help.

We did have one bit of great news right before all the search parties headed out. Diana managed to get a call off from somewhere in the Barrens, telling us she had somehow (God only knows how - mother's intuition? divine guidance? dumb luck?) found Meaghan and they were together, but still lost in the woods. But at least we know Meg is OK and not alone anymore, which is unbelievably good news. Plus, Diana's cell may be our key to finding them.

I have to go. Thanks for your help, and wish us all luck.

Dale
