Does anyone think it looks like this guy? His name is Satoshi Endo, and he is studying at the University in Tuebingen, which is quite close to Kaysersberg (just over the Alsace border, in Germany). The background countryside looks similar (which it would do, if he is in the same area), but it almost looks as if he is wearing the same coat. My only reservation would be whether his moustache line is wider than the face on the card.
More details on him can be found here: http://tinyurl.co.uk/2nfk

That's the guy I pointed out ages ago, but at the time we thought we were looking for a place, so I tried tubingen. Can't remember if I've tried his name. Doesn't look so great now, but was the best of a lot of non look alikes on google.

Also, our Satoshi appears to have a small mole* on his left jawline and a couple of other marks on the left of his face (chicken pox scars?).

Also his right upper lip is slightly upturned, though this could be a kind of taunting sneer (you will never find me ha ha ha) Laughing

That is all

This guy looks alot like him but in different light and less facial hair......Could somebody please translate the Chinese writing in the top right hand corner of the notice board.........if you hold your mouse at the bottom right hand corner an image will appear click on it to make the picture bigger......

Thanks in advance.

I really think it could be him. Best match anyones come up with in the forum so far. If you flip the picture of him sitting on a chair horizontally then all the features match up. His left eyebrow has slightly less hair on the outer half of it than his right eyebrow. His right upper lip is upturned. The only differences are he seems to have had a shave and a haircut. Cannot see the mole on his left side of his chin though as he has facial hair covering that part.
Also the nose looks similar and so do the eyes, also if you look at his left ear in both pictures the lobe is abnormally large and the edge of the ear is long and straight in both.
The only thing that looks different to me is the size of his bottom lip but that could just be because he has his mouth open in 1 and closed in the other.

I don't think that looks like him at all.

Not every japanese guy with hair brushed down on his forehead is a potential answer, gang.

Just to eliminate easy guesses I tried
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Endo and Hirabayashi, the last names of the 2 most recent picture possibilities. No dice.

Thank you.
The guy on the card is a bit paler though.
I think he is the most resembling person but it might not be him.

Do you think this one is actually guessable at the moment? Are we clear on what the question is - is it just his name - or do we need to find this guy to get the question from him? I had assumed the latter - this is the last card and it would be a great team effort to locate 1 random person out of 6 billion, rather than just stumble on the answer with a guess? Clearly there are actually more than 6 billion names we could give this guy so guessing is a big long shot, but if it helps, I can eliminate myself as I have a big beard, an eyepatch and a claw, apparently.Laughing
Cheers all

P.S. Doesn't mean I haven't had a guess or two myself, but now think it's pointless - one of my guesses was quoted in the SF quiz last night, presumably because it was so daft (but any publicity is good publicity so I'm told) - I had a stab at sunny Morecambe, seeing as the chap's name was Wise. Embarassed

I believe, as stated earlier in the thread, that we're going to have to contact the guy once we find him and find out where to go from there. Hell, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if, once we found him, he gave us ANOTHER riddle to solve. It'd really be a Perplexian thing to do.

Having said this...

looks almost *too* similar to me, as if it couldn't be a coincidence. But if he doesn't respond... all we can do is try again, I suppose, until we get a "NO, FOR THE LAST TIME, THAT ISN'T ME. GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU FREAKS."

ixalon, has there been very much feedback from the website?

Cabbage Mr. Green

PS I have found something dead weird, following on from my earlier post about Satoshi's mole, I was having a look at the high res picture and noticed that he has a little constellation of six moles, and when you join them up it looks like a cube viewed from the side (is this weird or what):

As far as what the answer could be goes, i think we can rule out his name because we have half of it already. As it says
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"Find me"
in the japanese words, it could be the place he is in the picture although people have already tried
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
kaysersburg
. Maybe the spot he is standing on i.e the name of the bridge/building etc.??
It could also be find me as in we have to find the person and find out where he lives rather than where the photo was taken. Or a more unlikely situation is that we have to contact him and ask him what the answer is but thats an improbability because i doubt many people would agree to something which involves possibly hundreds of people emailing/phoning them asking the same thing.
Maybe someone should be researching "exactly" where the picture was taken from, i recall someone showing 3 other pictures taken from roughly the same place on a bridge earlier in the forum but i've forgotten what they said the place was called, began with a "P" i think.

*Edit:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
yes it was said that he was stood on Le pont de Kaysersberg, could be that (whatever it is) or maybe the name of the river or bridge. It could even be Alsace or France, but that seems a bit simple for 1 of the most difficult cards, as though theres a chance someone could recognise the landscape and take a guess.

My feeling is that the answer will be where he lives rather than where the picture was taken because that will be a really challenging thing to accomplish. You never know, an interesting idea for MC is to have the answer as where he is at any given time, so they have to change the answer when he moves from one place to another and we have to find out where he is at the time we fill the answer in???!! I like that idea Evil or Very Mad

Nope, not a sausage... Not even a chipolata... Sad

Have very few hits from Japan though (most are from US and GB) so I'm trying to track down someone to do a Japanese translation. The only person I know is away on hols for another 2 weeks.

I am Japanese, you know.
I opened your zip file for translation when you first set it up. But I didn't have a clue what to do with it.
I can translate on this forum if it is possible for you to copy and paste my translation. If this is technically possible, please let me know what you would like me to translate.

By the way,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"Billion to one " is like 1:1000000000, which is "tera". "Tera" in Japanese means "Temple", which is often used for part of somebody's surname.
I tried searching in this path, but I have not been very successful.
