[MISSING] Looking for Meaghan

It appears that there's going to be an all-out search for Meaghan tonight. This thread can be used to follow what is happening either in the chatroom, at AIN, phone, email, etc.

Let's all hope that they find out where Meaghan is and that she's safe.

But please, no Wishes.

In case they are needed, here are a couple of maps that may help.

AIN message from Dale 7:43
Quote:
Driz,

Well we have a bunch of search parties in the edge of the woods right now. It took a while to get them set up and ready to go, and to come up with a communications and grid system we could use to try and keep track of it all, but at least they are out there right now. I stayed behind just a bit just to make sure everything's working properly for Sam's idea and to send this one last message before I go in there, since I'm not sure when my phone will be working again. Yeah, I'm texting this into the IntraNet and the system is sending it on to you; Sam's a real miracle worker sometimes. And if her other idea works out, we may be able to find them quickly, Let's hope.

Sam is supposed to be posting details of what she has set up to allow you online to stay in touch and even help out. So check out the Aglaura site and the IntraNet if you are able to help.

We did have one bit of great news right before all the search parties headed out. Diana managed to get a call off from somewhere in the Barrens, telling us she had somehow (God only knows how - mother's intuition? divine guidance? dumb luck?) found Meaghan and they were together, but still lost in the woods. But at least we know Meg is OK and not alone anymore, which is unbelievably good news. Plus, Diana's cell may be our key to finding them.

I have to go. Thanks for your help, and wish us all luck.

Dale

Update on http://aglauranj.org/news/8-14-06.php
Saying, "Go to the Search for Meaghan page". Link isn't working yet.
Sylvia found: http://aglauranj.org/meaghan.php
And then it worked. Smile

UPDATE: 8:00PM

This may not make sense yet but it will shortly. We'll be using this grid system to help track and analyze the searchers movements through the area. I'll post more details very soon; I'm just finalizing the list of searchers and groups for the online people to help with.

UPDATE: 8:30PM

OK, I think we have everything ready to go. There are ten search teams made up of anywhere from 3 to 5 people in the woods right now, and they should be all at or near their designated starting positions. I've heard from just a handful but that's not surprising, because of the cell situation I've already described. I've also got a bunch of online volunteers logged in to the IntraNet and willing to help out, so I'm assigning each of the search teams an online contact to coordinate the messages back and forth with that team, and helping to compile and analyze their findings.

What do I mean by findings? Well, I've managed to rig a cell phone for each search team that they will use to try and call Diana's phone constantly. We know we probably won't get a clear and continuous signal at any point, but if enough people are able to get through enough times while they are searching the woods, we should be able to triangulate Meaghan and Diana's position. You see, I've set up these phones to show the strength of the signal of the phone they are connected to. So if anyone gets through to Diana's phone, they should be able to tell us how string the signal was, ranging from 10% to 100%. 10% would mean that Diana and Meaghan are pretty far away, and 100% would mean that the searchers are practically on top of them. Of course, it's not going to be perfect, and there may be times when the signal reads less than it should. In other words, a 10% reading could actually be much closer than 10%, but it won't ever be the other way around.

The grid I've set up above is read according to the letters and numbers along the side, and a 10% reading would basically mean that the searchers are somewhere within a 20 square radius of Diana and Meaghan.

I'll post the team listings ASAP.

Driz,

You'll be the online contact for group #6. The leader of the group is Mavis Thiemann . She'll be contacting you whenever she can with updates on what is happening.

Please keep track of where the group is and message me if you discover anything important. Thanks!
