[SPEC] Flaws and the Masks

Just some observations I've got to get down while they are fresh on my mind and to create an area for us to speculate on the following subject.

The latest email from simonSPLATmystes.com
{bold = mine}
Quote:

Subject: Your Success
The face of man hides the flaws he wants others to never know. He can't begin his days with them exposed to the world. One mask is not enough; the average man wears many.

With only the world as his witness, he stands alone in this real conviction, truth does indeed matter, yet fails every opportunity which he surely could employ to make others believe as well.

Yet man can be both maker or follower, model or source, healer or destroyer. This universe begins and concludes with man's imprint. He is the reason this world exists, and he is the answer for every question. Perfect by nature, his flaws his fate decide.

Those who have both desire and knowledge shall proceed.

Now for my weird thinking, which may be way out there. But:

Notice the mention of flaws, and the following:

0. The Mask of Knowledge (I don't know if there was a flaw on this one or not which is why I started with 0 or has nothing missing)
1. The Mask of History is missing its tongue, we could say that is a flaw. The Aglaura police currently have possession of the tongue.
2. The Mask of Nature is missing one of it's tusk and one of the fringes, these could be flaws. [spec] Could SpamSifter have the tusk and fringe in his/her possession?? (see below)

But most important:

Take a look at the image that SpamSifter uses on the AIN in his profile. Notice it's the Mask of Nature with the missing tusk and fringe.

How and if this is all related, I don't know. But I had to get it down here before I forgot it.

And so we can use this section to speculate on this subject and by doing so put our heads together and see what we might come up with.

So, anyone got any ideas?

I just assumed that SpamSifter is Shad0 and he added his mask to his profile.

Given the email address associated with the account, (spamsifterSPLATaol.com) and the fact that the "last login" is always the current date, I lean towards it being some kind of spam filter as Shad0's contact has been sporadic. But ther there is that "Unfiction" entry in the company field, which would be a big problem if the account in an in-game construct.

Whoops. Embarassed

Uh, yeah, that's me. Sorry. Stupid Censored AIN uses your e-mail address for your name rather than your account login name. Dale said that I could write Sam and ask her to change it, so I'll probably get on that.

Also, it turns out that the "missing" tusk was in the bottom of the box. So it came off, like the fringe, but it is no longer missing. Yay.

(And incidentally, SpamSifter is my honest-to-gosh e-mail address, not a filter. I discovered a couple of years back that if the word "spam" appears in my e-mail address, I don't get any. I think the harvesters must assume that it's a fake and filter it out. Mr. Green )

So the only flaw is the tongue so far... Knowledge is fine.

Well there went that theory. ShadO, where have you been? I bet you had a good laugh from all of this.

But that's good. I got started laughing over something in chat last night and didn't think I would ever stop and it made me feel so much better.

So if you got a good laugh from all this, I'm glad.

No, I'm more embarrassed than anything else. I've been out of town since Friday (which is also why I haven't yet posted a more detailed report of my meeting with Mask Guy last week). Sorry to mislead everyone. Embarassed

Re: [SPEC] Flaws and the Masks

No no no no no! I embarrassed me! By, y'know, creating the potential for a confusing situation in the first place. My fault entirely. Please don't feel bad; there's absolutely no need for it.
