If dmax can't get there in time, I can do it, Ozy. Sending a PM with my cell number - send me airline and time and your cell and I can meet you out front and the cellphones will ensure we figure who each other is. Smile

Hey, you people who will be there on Thursday night!

Let's do something, at least get together at a hotel bar and have a drink. Give me a jingle when you get in. We should get there around 1-2pm on Thursday. My cell # is on the list. Very Happy

I'll be getting to my hotel around 5-ish, so I'm game as well! Very Happy

Since I'm stayin' at the imbritel, and am pretty much reliant on the kindness of strangers to get me to/from the airport, I guess I'm spending Saturday going wherever people are willing to take me.

NOD ISN...well, you know the drill by now.

Ozy, since Imbi, Space and I have more or less been fighting over who gets to pick you up - I'm willing to let Space pick you up, if you want to ride with me Saturday to Universal. (No, Imbri, you will have picked up lots of people before that, let someone else have the fun of meeting and greeting Razz )

As far as transportation goes - Diandra, Lazarus, Space, Mart, Imbri (assumed since she lives there), dParadiso (unless getting a ride from Bill?), Sunny, the Konas and I have cars, either our own or rentals. We should be able to get everyone wherever we end up going with a minimum of fuss.

Imbri & Bill, if I may suggest - everyone meeting somewhere for Breakfast/brunch Saturday so we can coordinate riders and day trips, and some together time, in the event we split into several groups before the evening's planned festivities. For those of you don't eat b-fast you can drink coffee or OJ and just be sociable.

Sweet! Thanks a bunch, Steff! And thanks, Space, for driving out and getting me even though I don't arrive until after midnight! And thanks, imby, for offering, even though you have that chronic Exploding Tires problem! And thanks, AD, for agreeing to drive me back to the airport at some ungodly hour on Sunday! And thanks, dmax, for offering to drive ALL THE WAY CROSS-COUNTRY (no doubt in a beat-up little teal blue Vespa with 235,000 miles on it, a malfunctioning heater, only one windshield wiper, and a worn copy of the Jesus and Mary Chain's PSYCHOCANDY permanently jammed in the stereo cassette player) to get me, even if you WERE just cruelly and evilly yanking my chain.

Ozy

P.S.: Dude, song three, side one. "Taste The Floor". Best. Feedback. Loop. Ever. And good luck with that heater.

names

I'm sure most are gone already, but for those who aren't, I can't be called dparadise all weekend. Let me introduce myself to those who don't know, my name is Debbie, nice to meet you! Cool

Breakfast sounds like a good idea, how about Wafflehouse? Smile

Hey, I won the privilege to giving Ozy a ride! Well, I guess it could be called "winning" getting up at 5 AM after a late night at the rocket . . . hmm. Very Happy

Not to worry. I have a charcoal grill smoldering in the trunk. Works great and...instant tailgate party! Cool

Sorry. no PSYCHOCANDY. I have an 8-track of Tales From Topographic Oceans that I like a lot, and it oughta be a great soundtrack for a road trip like that.

Daily update from the konas.

It was grey and drizzly in the morning. Undaunted, we ventured down the BeeLine Expressway (Toll Road) East to Kennedy Space Center and the ATX (astronaut training experience). By the way, total toll was $2.50 each way.

Here are some photos from our day.

We drove home in a downpour. And it looks like the rest of the weekend will be spent in a warm rain. Maybe that means the tourist parks will be less crowded?
